The Cookie Monster is not the only one who goes crazy about the most delicious sweet treats. Those who wish to tame their cravings for a low-calorie and easy-to-prepare dessert should take a closer peek at this simple chocolate toffee cookie recipe.
Have them for breakfast or between main meals to make sure you spare yourself from overeating. Trawl the market for the most important ingredients and start the fabulous baking project. Wow your friends and family with a nutritive and at the same time tasty reward.
4 pieces of medium sized toffee bars chopped into tiny pieces
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 pound bittersweet or sweet chocolate chopped
1 3/4 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup walnuts chopped and toasted
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
4 large eggs
Grab a small bowl and mix the salt, flour and baking soda. In a separate bowl mix the chocolate and the butter. Keep it over simmering water until the elements are completely melted. Put the mixture aside and let it cool down.
Use a high quality electric mixer to beat the eggs mixed with sugar, until you obtain a pretty thick texture. Add the vanilla and the chocolate mixture. The next step is to add the extra nuts, toffee bars and the flour. Let the batter chill until it gets firm. This might take 45 minutes.
In the final phase preheat the oven to 350°F. Use baking sheets to enhance the textbook style baking. Place the batter on these sheets leaving a little space between the cookies. 15 minutes will be enough to have a cracked-topped cookie that’s super-soft and delicious. Serve this treat with milk or coffee, depending on your preferences.
