While Beyoncé still includes fish in her diet, she’s a big fan of plant-based meals. The singer decided to team up with 22 Days Nutrition for a new vegan meal delivery service, based on some of her favorite recipes.
After going on a vegan cleanse in 2013 along with Jay Z, Beyoncé decided to share her experience, offering the plant-based home delivery meal service. Find out what goodies are part of the Beyoncé diet and why she’s so excited about them.
Beyoncé’s Vegan Beginnings
The singer and her husband Jay Z embarked on a “spiritual and mental cleanse” before the 2013 winter holidays, eating only 100% plant-based foods for 21 days. The two were photographed at many vegan friendly restaurants and praised the 22 Days Nutrition program created by renowned exercise physiologist and author Marco Borges. The spiritual part of the vegan diet is connected to the “serendipity behind the number of days in this challenge; 22 (2+2=4)”, according to Jay Z.
Beyoncé and Jay Z continued to include plenty of vegan foods in their diet in 2014, while working together on the “On the Run Tour”, the 5th highest grossing tour of the year, proving that a plant-based diet can give you plenty of energy.
What is the 22 Days Nutrition Plan?
The program is based on the philosophy that you can break a habit in 21 days, and start forming a new one on the 22nd. When she first tried it in 2013, Beyoncé’s favorite snacks were the 22 Days Nutrition bars, particularly Pineapple Chocolate-Chip Wonder, Cherry Chocolate Bliss and Peanut Chocolate-Chip Nirvana, according to Marco Borges.

The idea for the home delivery service was born after Beyoncé realized she was very happy with the results of the experiment. “I am so grateful that I took the challenge and credit Marco with leading by example,” the singer explained. “He is the most energetic person I know and it’s all because of his decision to live a healthy lifestyle. He came up with a great program to get people motivated to make better nutritional choices. All you have to do is try. If I can do it, anyone can. I am excited to partner with him,” Beyoncé said of her new meal delivery service.
Customers can opt to have one meal, two or even three delivered every day. Beyoncé’s vegan meals are 100% plant-based, made with organic ingredients, non-GMO, gluten free, soy free and dairy free. They are delivered once a week and easy to reheat. Prices start as low as low as $9.24/meal.
What’s on the Beyoncé Diet?
The sample menu for the 22 Days Nutrition Beyoncé approved began meals includes delicious sounding options for lunch and dinner: Sesame Cabbage Lentil Bowl, Southern Black Beans & Vegetables, Fajita Kidney Beans, Curried Indian Cauliflower and Sweet Potato Bowl, St. Martin Veggies and Quinoa, Ratatouille Pasta with Pesto, Winter Beans with Zesty-Parsley Quinoa, Curried Fried Rice with Vegetables.
If you plan on ordering the three meals per day option, breakfast options include Hearty Nut Granola and Almond Berry Breakfast Loaf.
Who Else Is Following Beyoncé’s Lead?
Inspired by the singer, Jennifer Lopez also tried the plant-based meal plan last spring. “I did the vegan 22-day plan, and it was really good and I kept on with it for a few more weeks, and now I’ve incorporated a little bit of fish here and there,” she told Us magazine, adding that “I enjoy it. I enjoy eating that way. I never did [before]. And I didn’t know how good you can feel when you put healthy stuff in your body.”
Marco Borges has also teamed up with PETA to a 22 day challenge to go vegan, inspired by Beyoncé. But now that the singer has come out with her own plant-based meals, her fans can definitely experience the vegan cleanse the way it worked for Beyoncé.
