It’s been a great year for Jessica Simpson as the singer/designer recently gave birth to her bundle of joy, baby Drew Maxwell and now she’s managed to land a deal with Weight Watchers. Jessica Simpson has been highly criticized for her massive weight gain, prior and during pregnancy and it seems that the singer is ready to get back in shape and wow her fans with the perfect silhouette that she flashed in 2005, when she snatched the role of Daisy Duke in the movie ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’.

Rumors say it that the diva signed a $4 million contract with the renowned weight loss program that helped singer/actress Jennifer Hudson get the body she’s flaunting today. The fact that Jessica signed with Weight watchers has been confirmed by the singer via Twitter, as she wrote to her fans “So excited to be a part of the @WeightWatchers family!”

According to People, Jessica had planned to join the program before she knew she was pregnant, but when she found out she was expecting she quit counting points and decided to eat healthy but enjoy her pregnancy. She told the publication that:

“I was like, ‘I’m going to enjoy my pregnancy,’ and I did, I ate very healthy, but I did indulge some of my cravings, and that’s okay because I know I can work it off now.”

It seems that Jessica, who had weight fluctuations throughout her career, says that she’s done yo-yo dieting and that’s why she decided to join the program. Jessica gained plenty of weight during pregnancy and now that she’s given birth to her 9 lb. 13 oz baby, she’s decided she’s going to do something about her pregnancy weight gain. She told People that:

“I think anybody who’s gone through a pregnancy, after they have the baby, it’s like ‘I need to do something about this’. For me, I really want to do something that is a lifestyle, because in the past, I’ve been known to yo-yo diet.”

Apparently, Jessica will not concentrate on reaching a certain weight, she’s going to focus on the inches. Small steps are the perfect means to success as apparently the 32 year old singer is going to set small goals which she can conquer rather than not have any satisfaction as getting to that perfect silhouette that she’s showed us in the past will not be easy. The singer said that:

“There’s not a goal weight – I just want to feel normal and fixate on inches. I really want to set small goals, so I’m constantly reaching goals and not looking at something so far ahead.”
