The Ulyana Sergeenko couture spring 2013 lookbook is absolutely amazing! Well, it definitely let us speechless. Boy oh boy, those creations seem out of this world! The mesmerizing and theatrical pieces are inspired by some renowned novels such as Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Headless Horseman, and according to Sergeenko, the muse of the collection is Scarlett O’Hara. The designer’s purpose was to redefine the idea of luxury.
“Women in Russia were once starved for luxury, and when we finally had access to it, we consumed it a lot,” Ulyana Sergeenko said after the show. “But today, we are ready for something new, we know that luxury needn’t equate gold and diamonds.”

Even though at the very beginning Ulyana Sergeenko’s unique style drew people’s attention in a slightly negative sense, today she is one of the best dressed women in the world and a successful designer. Her flawless appearances draw admiring oohs and aahs.
“When I appeared on the scene a few years ago, a lot of people laughed at me. I have a really recognizable and maybe a funny style. My long skirts – really, people laughed. But now a lot of people, they ask their stylists, ‘Make me absolutely like Ulyana.’ We have lots of people in clothes similar to my skirts. We have now a lot of Russian designers who are producing similar skirts and dresses. Not a long time ago, it was very funny and people were laughing. Now they are wearing it,” Ulyana revealed in an interview on style.com.
