New York Fashion Week is less than a week away and we’re hardly waiting to see what some of the world’s most famous designers have prepared for us. And one of the fall 2013 ready-to-wear collections we’re excited to see at New York Fashion Week 2013 is the one delivered by Tory Burch.
Launched in 2004 as a lifestyle concept, the brand extended due to the designer’s desire to create stylish yet wearable clothing and accessories for women of all ages. With the idea that luxury shouldn’t be exclusionary in mind, Tory Burch built a multimillion-dollar brand in a short period of time.
When it comes to designing, Tory is highly influenced by the unique personal style of her parents Buddy and Reva, but also by her love of art, music, culture and travel, which is reflected in her collection. The label’s signatures are graphic prints, bold colors and unique details. Tory’s playful designs are both feminine and wearable and the combinations are bold and voguish. Well, her fall 2011 collection speaks for itself! Tweeds and plaid wool were stunningly blend with silk and a little bit of glitz.
It seems that Tory Burch likes to have fun and explores fashion at its maximum. In the designer’s spring 2012 collection we could spot sailor stripes and polka dots with a twist. Still, refinement remains an essential element in all her lines. The Tory Burch fall 2012 collection is a great example in this sense. Imagine floral appliqué, lace, brocade, plissé tulle and chiffon spiced up by a biker flare. In September 2012 at New York Fashion Week, Tory Burch presented her spring 2013 ready-to-wear-collection describing her girls as being a “classic in spirit, but a bit of a traveler.” As for her pre-fall 2103 line, Burch had as starting point the military jacket. So, what will be the designer’s source of inspiration for her fall 2013 collection? Well, we’ll definitely find it out on February 12 when Tory Burch will showcase her latest creations!
