Okay, now this is one unique and unexpected collaboration! Yes, everyone, Rodarte and Starbucks team up in order to create a limited-edition collection set to be released just in time for the holiday season. “Our clothing is specialised and when we are thinking of Rodarte, we choose things that say who we are as designers, but we’re not limited to that,” one half of the design duo, Laura Mulleavy, told Business Week. “We like the idea of collaborations and putting our thought process somewhere else.”

The special collection, which will be available starting November 13, includes coffee mugs, tote bags ($13.95), gift cards, and reusable cup sleeves ($5.45), each item having a pixelated print of grey, white and silver set against Starbucks’ signature green shade.

Samie Barr, Starbucks’ vice president of category brand management, explained that he hoped this new project would put “us on the map as a true inspirational gifting destination”. “We felt we had a broad audience of customers. We look for unique and differentiated; we’re not necessarily looking for mainstream,” he revealed. “People buy with their eyes,” Barr added. So, all you caffeine-lovers out there, now you have the chance to give a fashionable flare to your coffee routine. The Rodarte x Starbucks collection will be available online at StarbucksStore.ca and at select Starbucks’ stores.
