Rihanna is the new face of Balmain! The singer, who has recently tried her hand at design in collaboration with River Island, is a huge fan of the fashion house’s designs, so the endorsement is definitely a great choice for the brand. In fact, for creative director Olivier Rousteing, the new campaign featuring Rihanna is much like a dream come true as her style has often proved an inspiration for the designer.
Seemingly referring to another great hit of hers, the designer praised the star’s natural talent when it comes to posing: “In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world. When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete,” he told WWD. Such statements definitely make us think about a stunning memorable campaign and the first ads unveiled definitely support that theory.
The Rihanna for Balmain spring 2014 campaign was lensed by the talented duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in New York under the creative direction of Atelier Franck Durand and with Mel Ottenberg in charge of styling. Rihanna looks stunning in two of the most memorable outfits from the Balmain spring 2014 collection.
The star looks completely comfortable in the role rocking a tousled bedhead curly hairstyle and a compelling gaze. After all, RiRi has never been afraid to take a few fashion risks and steal the spotlight in the process, so rocking chunky chain dresses and statement bracelets aren’t too far outside her comfort zone.
We might even go as far as saying the star looks like she’s enjoying the effortless looks which make a strong statement. The new Rihanna for Balmain spring 2014 campaign will be featured in fashion magazines starting January 2014. We sure hope more ads featuring the singer who received two Grammy nominations so far will be unveiled. It is unclear whether the singer will also be part of the subsequent campaigns, but she sure is a good fit for the brand, so we hope to get to see more of her.
