Kate Winslet poses
gracefully for Craig McDean in the new St. John spring 2012
campaign. The Oscar-winning actress looks naturally gorgeous,
relaxed and fresh in the ads shot in a New York City penthouse.
Speaking about the line, Kate said in the behind-the-scenes video
that, "This collection does feel very light and very fresh. What I
love too is that the lines are a lot more relaxed, and yet at the
same time they still give shape, so you get those lovely feminine
curves, which to me are very, very important."
Moreover, the actress admitted that she loves the fact that the
clothes in the new St. John collection are designed in order to
flatter even women with a shape. "You don't have to be a size 2 or
even a size 4 to be able to wear these garments because they fall
so well, they're cut for women with a shape, and of course I love
that. That's me all over," she continued.
Speaking about the label, Winslet explained in a statement that,
"It has been a great experience working with St. John. I am very
excited for this upcoming season, George and St. John have created
wonderfully chic and effortless styles for the modern woman."
Kate Winslet has been announced as the brand's ambassador early
this year following in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie,
Gisele Bündchen and Karen Elson. The 36-year-old actress started
her collaboration with St. John appearing in their fall 2011
campaign.
"[Kate's] continued support in the brand and women’s receptiveness
to her beauty and extraordinary body of work are just some of the
reasons to continue on with our relationship and decision to work
together for our spring 2012 ad campaign", the brand's creative
director George Sharp said.
