Jonathan Saunders proves once again why prints made him famous. The Scottish born fashion and print designer presented his spring 2012 collection at the London Fashion Week and we must admit that all the prettiness seen on the catwalk represented a real delight to the eye. A special paisley-like print was used on delicate shades and on graduated colour washes. ‘Harmony’ was the key word, with adorable hues gorgeously complementing those feminine silhouettes. “I’ve been toying with the idea of ‘pretty’,” the designer explained.
The Jonathan Saunders Spring 2012 collection features some incredibly simple, yet chic ensembles, perfect for the modern woman whose idea of fashion is highly related to functionality and versatility. Beautifully printed dresses, pencil or full skirts, tailored jackets, silk pajamas shirts and camisoles, satin pants and waffle knits were all effortlessly sharp and suitable for daytime or office wear. There were also sexy embroidered lace gowns, so wow-worthy and red carpet-appropriate.
There was an overall coherence characterizing the Jonathan Saunders spring 2012 collection. Its incredible wearability, lightness and particular elegance lead to the idea that the Scottish designer definitely understands a woman’s fashion needs. The tailoring and the colors balanced flawlessly, creating a myriad of eye-catching ensembles. The collection mixed sherbet pastels and peachy hues with vibrant shades of orange, fuchsia and turquoise, but also with playful polka dots and alluring prints. Dizzy Christian Louboutin block color platform wedges completed the looks.
