The Jenny Packham fall 2013 collection definitely came as a surprise as the brand established a niche and stuck to it, going full-on glamor with uber-feminine designs that would easily turn any woman into a total diva. The designer’s love for all things refined, romantic and elegant can be traced back to the label’s fashion debut, so why concentrate on something other than this particular style if this is what the designer does best?!
As far as why she’s focusing on formal, evening wear, Jenny Packham told style.com that ‘other people do day better. We’ve found that the more niche you are, the better off you are’, and we totally agree with the designer as the lineup featured at the Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week got us wear at the knees. Inspired by Paris fashion from the 17th century, Jenny Packham’s fall 2013 collection brought to the contemporary fashion scene an array of elegant dresses that looked relaxed and worthy of any red carpet event, reason for which we urge you to browse through the wonderful lineup from beginning to end.
Dresses dominated the runway in Jenny Packham’s fall 2013 collection and the variety of styles that was presented in the show is worthy of intense applause. The collection opened its curtains with an ultra-seductive dusky peach organza gown that displayed a black fabric insertion that underlined the waistline and helped add a touch of ‘je ne sais quoi’ that amped-up the sophistication level instantly. Next, a neutral-pink satin gown was paired with a lovely peach embellished trench and from this moment on heavy embellishments and shiny details took the audience’s breath away. Time seemed to slow down for a moment when a selection of intense red gowns featuring intricate beading, mesh insertions and simple chiffon touches made their way down the podium.
However, things were toned down as the collection neared the end as the fall season is all about dark tones. The need for cooler tones sparked the designer’s creativity enabling her to take icy fabrics and make them look sizzling through the cuts and contrasting fabrics used and the elegant display of embellishments, and a peek at the midi to floor-length black, white and grey-blue, grey-green dresses would be enough to get you hooked on the brand’s creations!
Although sublime sophistication dominated the entire Jenny Packham fall 2013 collection we did spot a few designs that leaned more towards casual, designs such as a red pair of trousers paired with a gorgeous embellished blouse and a chic satin dress paired with a knitted pullover. This is by far one of the best fashion collections featured at the Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week, so take a peek at each design and tell us if you agree with us!
