Nicole Richie extended House of Harlow 1960s offerings with a new clothing line. So far, the label has offered a myriad of cool accessories like handbags, shoes, sunglasses and jewelry, but it seems that the fall of 2013 marks a new beginning in the label’s history. This isn’t Nicole Richie’s first foray into clothing design, but it’s certainly the first line featured under the House of Harlow 1960 label. The designer didn’t make the announcement with bells and whistles. Instead, a few pieces made their way to Shopbop recently.
The new House of Harlow fall 2013 collection features a handful of pieces which have a rock chic vibe and are all black. Rock chic options in all of their forms will be a huge trend in the upcoming months, so the new pieces couldn’t be more appropriate for the new season. The easiest choice when you’re craving a bit of edginess? A moto-inspired jacket! The new Ramona Jacket ($285) has perforated sleeves, notched lapels and an instantly distinguishable “badass” allure.
Another interesting choice is the Arla skirt ($165) which is ideal for girls who crave an edgy allure yet still want a feminine outfit. The perforated holes add an abstract vibe to the skirt and entice everyone to want to take a closer look. For confident girls who aren’t afraid to show off their legs, the Otis Shorts ($145) featuring a cuffed hem and a modern off center zipper which adds a modern vibe to the piece, might be a good pick. Another great choice that requires a significant amount of confidence to pull off is the Jet Dress ($195), a sleeveless bodycon dress that features a perforated detail upper which instantly attracts attention.
If you prefer to stay away from leather pieces for moral reasons, fear not: these are made from faux leather and have a 100% polyurethane shell. The pieces from the new House of Harlow fall 2013 clothing line come in sizes ranging from XS to L and can be easily combined with many of the label’s fall 2013 jewelry pieces which match the spirit of the new line and can instantly add interest to the new season looks.
