Haute couture shows are all about highlighting sophistication in its highest form and this is exactly the feeling that the Georges Hobeika spring 2013 haute couture collection managed to express. The mission of the label was always clearly stated: “every Hobeika design is the quintessential expression of a woman’s inner beauty and seductive nature perfectly balanced with virtuous grace” and the newest creations are the core reflection of this deeply set principle. Femininity, refinement and classiness merged in each of the new designs, mesmerizing the audience irremediably.
The much awaited Georges Hobeika couture show was focused on the “Peace Blossom” theme and featured a multitude of sophisticated pieces that showed a clear understanding of what it takes to make a women feel like a goddess in the perfect dress. Though the elegance of the designs generally transcends any fads the seasons bring, it seems that the peplum trend is still a much loved style element among designers. With clean lines, delicate embroidery and a multitude of spectacular details that require hundreds of hours of work, the new designs certainly fall in the ethereal category.
Regardless of whether the dress set down the runway was a cocktail dress or an evening gown, the same attention to details and effort were noticed. The Lebanese designer left no room for compromises and made every dress as important as the next one. The vast majority of the Georges Hobeika spring 2013 couture designs were focused on closely following the body line, although there were quite a few options that played up the power of playing with proportions for an amazing contrast.
The sophisticated and delicate allure of the George Hobeika couture designs is also heightened by the well chosen color palette: pure white, soft pink, delicate blue shades or light beige and soft grey complemented by stronger accent tones like right green tones or fuchsia. The luxurious allure given by crystals, sequins and amazing pearls transforms the luxurious offerings into veritable masterpieces that have a magnetic appeal that makes everyone want to stop and admire. If there’s one type of look that is guaranteed to become red carpet favorite, it’s definitely a carefully conceived dress like the ones presented in this haute couture show.
