We don’t really know what scissors Bouchra Jarrar uses, but those cuts are absolutely incredible. If you gorgeous dolls have seen the designer’s spring 2013 couture collection, you definitely know what we’re talking about. Elegant and precise, the silhouettes seen on the runway were stunningly chic and smart. Couture? Not at all! These pieces are so wearable we would throw them on right now and go out flaunting our fashion credentials!
Ah, those pure geometric lines beautifully mixed with volumes result into ultra-sophisticated goodies. And we’re head over heels! Bouchra is a real artist when it comes to mixing textures and colors. Effortlessly chic and functional, the designer’s spring 2013 couture collection features loads of versatile pieces that guarantee to add a posh flare to the voguish, urban girl.
Coats, jackets, vests, pants, suits, sweaters, but also corsets and dresses receive a particular interpretation echoing maximum elegance. Oh, and did you see those scarves crisscrossed over the body and caught with leather belts? Innovative and spectacular indeed!
Military and navy seem to dominate a collection that oozes practicality and chicness. Army-inspired pieces, a jacket that makes us think to the already famous aviator style, and sailor stripes. Could we ask for more? Besides, there are also some luxurious elements such as fur, silk and bejeweled items, and extremely refined looks such as the cinched at the waist ones.
Bouchra Jarrar was formerly studio director at Balenciaga, with Nicolas Ghesquière, for 10 years, and then spent a year at Christian Lacroix couture. She debuted her own haute couture brand in January 2010. So, we must say that by now we’re kind of used with the designer’s precision when it comes to tailoring. “My work’s always a continuation, season to season,” Jarrar said. And indeed, every piece is impeccable and flawless and everything is at the right place. Season after season, Bouchra brings modern yet timeless pieces that are worth every bit of investment.
