Cutesy alert this fall! Singer, actress, and now fashion designer Selena Gomez has launched her Kmart’s ‘Dream Out Loud’ Fall 2011 Collection. In fact, the 19-year-old teen star wrote on her own Facebook page about the collection, saying that, “Hey Guys, I had so much fun shooting my fall Dream Out Loud collection! It’s in stores now and online: http://kmrt.us/FallDOL Let me know what your favorite look is!”
Whether it’s a sweet diagonal ruffle tunic or a beautiful crochet top that reveals your inner boho babe or perhaps rock chick touches such as sequined skinny jeans and black ankle boots, there’s loads of things waiting for you. The line is affordable and it offers a wide range of trendy and playful pieces for girls in the age group of 7 up to 18 year olds.
Describing the ‘Dream Out Loud’ fall 2011 collection, Selena said that it is “very almost preppy, with a back-to-school kinda feel. We have a lot of plaids. We have a really cute plaid skirt that I actually wore in one of the shoots with a little shirt you can wear over it with boots. It’s pretty cool!”
Selena’s style has undergone a major makeover from the adorable Disney darling look to elegant, feminine, va-va-voom appearances. But what made the ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ star launch her own fashion line? “I really wanted something for my fans. Honestly that’s where it all kinda started. A little girl had a picture of me, a paparazzi picture, and she went out and bought the same outfit I wore in the picture which was really sweet. So, I wanted to come up with a line that would be affordable, classic and also really a lot of fun for my fans,” Selena said in an interview.
Selena’s first ‘Dream Out Loud’ collection was released in the fall of 2010 and it mostly reflected her own personal style, the clothes being described as “pretty, feminine, and bohemian”. The eco-friendly, pretty, boho-chic line for young girls featured romantic dresses, skirts, floral printed tops, jeans, jackets and accessories such as hats and scarves. The beautiful actress said that, “I want the pieces that can be easy to dress up or down, and the fabrics being eco-friendly and organic are superimportant. Also, the tags will all have some of my inspirational quotes on them. I’m just looking to send a good message.”
With her collection for Kmart, Selena managed to fulfill one of her long time dreams. The actress confessed that, “This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and I feel privileged to be able to give the consumer great product at a great value.” The ‘Dream Out Loud’ fall 2011 collection is available exclusively at Kmart stores and on Kmart.com.
