Discover the big Emmy Awards 2015 red carpet trends, and see some of the best dressed actresses from the ceremony. Bright pinks and yellows made a big splash on a hot day, yet plenty of celebs stuck to classic neutrals with beautiful embellishments. Here are some of the best looks from the Emmys.
Kerry Washington usually sticks to Prada for big events, but the “Scandal” star took a risk and it paid off big time. Her Marc Jacobs Spring 2015 look mixed chain-mail detailing and paillettes for a stunning effect.
“Mad Men”’s Christina Hendricks sparkled in a long sleeved Naeem Khan Fall 2015 dress, while Sofia Vergara opted for a glamorous St. John beaded gown, in her usual mermaid silhouette.
Gorgeous Fluorescent Pinks
Hot pink was one of boldest statements among the Emmy Awards 2015 red carpet trends, and nobody wore it better than Elisabeth Moss. The “Mad Men” star chose an Oscar de la Renta Resort 2016 ball gown, while Christine Baranski stuck to hot pink in a Zac Posen Resort 2016 dress, and “Orange Is the New Black” actress Samira Wiley rocked a fuchsia look.
While only two big names mastered this trend on the red carpet at the 2015 Emmys, they both got plenty of praise from fashion critics. “Empire”’s Taraji P. Henson wore a custom Alexander Wang black gown with thick chain-link straps, and Claire Danes opted for a slightly more subtle version in Prada.
Deep necklines weren’t unexpected, but they showed much more sophistication as one of the Emmy Awards 2015 red carpet trends than at the MTV VMAs. Emma Roberts wore a custom Jenny Packham creation, while Aubrey Plaza opted for an Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2015 gown with a sexy plunge and a high slit. Lena Headey also impressed in her Zuhair Murad Fall 2015 Couture gown, and the “Game of Thrones” actress accessorized it with no less than $1 million worth of diamonds.
From bright yellow to butter yellow, the Emmys showcased plenty of ways to rock this color. “Top Chef”’s Padma Lakshmi opted for a hot mustard tone in a Romona Keveza Fall 2015 creation, Mindy Kaling wore for a Salvador Perez dress, and Heidi Klum turned plenty of heads in an Atelier Versace Fall 2015 gown.
Uzo Aduba, who picked up the Emmy for Supporting Actress for Drama Series (“Orange Is the New Black”), rocked one of the biggest Emmy Awards 2015 red carpet trends in a pink Jonathan Cohen gown. Amy Poehler wore it in black Michael Kors, while Felicity Huffman opted for a Laura Basci gown.
Tuxedos and other menswear-inspired trends also made a splash on the red carpet at the 2015 Primetime Emmys. Tatiana Maslany chose a white Bouchra Jarrar Couture suit, and Jane Lynch, who won as Host for a Reality/Reality-Competition Program (“Hollywood Game Night”) rocked a black and white tuxedo. “Game of Thrones” star Sophie Turner also touched the trend, in a Galvan jumpsuit.
The off-the-shoulder look ended up as one of the major Emmy Awards 2015 red carpet trends, with plenty of variation. “American Horror Story”’s Sarah Paulson opted for a custom sequined Prabal Gurung gown and Sarah Hyland rocked a burgundy Zac Posen Fall 2015 creation. Her “Modern Family” co-star Julie Bowen chose a black Georges Chakra Couture gown.
January Jones wore for a green Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2015 Couture jumpsuit with a sweetheart neckline, but plenty of gowns featured it as well. Maggie Gyllenhaal opted for an Oscar de la Renta Fall 2015 gown, while “Jane the Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez stood out in a Lorena Sarbu Fall 2015 design.
2015 Emmys Hairstyles: Hot Bobs
Real or faux, bob hairstyles are having a major moment and stood out as one of the most wearable Emmy Awards 2015 red carpet trends. Taylor Schilling, Lady Gaga, and Zoe Kazan had some of the most attention-grabbing versions of the bob.
