Divas met at the VMAs on Sunday at Nokia Theatre L.A. in Los Angeles showing off their most covetable ensembles on a special night when Beyoncé announced she is pregnant, Lady Gaga performed as her alter-ego Joe Calderone, and Nicky Minaj surprised everyone with her peek-a-boo outfit. Take a look and tell us what was your favorite outfit.
Beyoncé is no stranger to stealing the show when it comes to red carpet events and she did just that at the MTV Music Awards at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. The singer looked stunning in an one-shouldered orange-hot Lanvin dress and Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. Still, it wasn’t her outfit that has stolen the spotlight and made the 30-year-old entertainer sparkle the entire way down on the red carpet, but it was her growing baby bump.
Katy Perry is already known for her playful, funky and rather eccentric fashion style. The 26-year-old singer certainly loves color and she proved it once again at this year’s VMAs. Perry called all the attention with her magenta locks and an Atelier Versace Fall 2011 mini dress. The songstress opted for eye-popping pink Jimmy Choo sandals to complete her outfit.
We are used to Selena Gomez showing off jaw dropping outfits whenever attending red carpet events. This time, the 19-year-old actress and singer stepped out in a divine Julien MacDonald Fall 2011 dress. Selena, who hosted the MTV VMA’s pre-show, completed the look with Brian Atwood heels, a Judith Leiber metallic box and Ofira jewelry.
Zoe Saldana definitely knows that one can never go wrong with a little black dress. The 33-year-old actress looked perfectly elegant in this Barbara Bui dress with gold and silver military-style details. Saldana accessorized her gown with Barbara Bui snake-skin sandals, a black Lanvin clutch and Ofira jewelry.
Zoe was not the only one oozing elegance and sophistication in a mini LBD. Britney Spears, who won the award for Best Pop Video for “Till the World Ends”, seems to have finally understood that simplicity is the answer when it comes to sexy outfits. The 29-year-old singer sparkled in an eye-catching sequinned Moschino dress and paired her ensemble with Gina patent leather platform boots.
Kelly Rowland was indeed a real showstopper on Sunday at Nokia Theatre L.A. in Los Angeles. The 30-year-old entertainer did not dissapoint with a Falguni & Shane Peacock dress from the designer’s Fall 2011 collection. Kelly showed off her sexy, toned legs in a pair of towering Christian Louboutin shoes.
Demi Lovato attended the MTV Video Music Awards looking fabulous while flaunting her sexy curves. The 19-year-old singer, who will release her latest album, ‘Unbroken’, on September 20, lighted up the night in a scene-stealing, figure-hugging Mandalay’s silver dress and Christian Louboutin pumps.
As usual, Kim Kardashian slipped into a dazzling gown that perfectly revealed her trademark silhouette. The 30-year-old newlywed reality TV star, who married Kris Humphries earlier this month, made a big splash in a silver, cutout Kaufman Franco dress. Kim accessorized the look with her massive 20.5-carat platinum engagement ring made of a 16.5-carat emerald cut center stone flanked by a pair of 2-carat trapezoids.
Miley Cyrus went backless on the red carpet in LA on Sunday evening. The 18-year-old singer managed to stand out in a long-sleeved Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2011 gown that fit her perfectly while beautifully accentuated her slim figure. Miley complemented her look with Anedine Alava shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
We must admit that Katie Holmes’ fashion sense has long evolved throughout time. The 32-year-old actress has known a complete metamorphosis and managed to became a true style icon. At the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, Katie worn an Azzedine Alaia halter dress paired with Proenza Schouler booties.
We are already used seeing Nicki Minaj wearing quirky looks. However, at this year’s VMAs, the 28-year-old singer had us pretty disoriented with her confusing, impossible to describe outfit. The Amato Couture pink corset, the Shojotomo Japan shorts, Tsimori Chisato stockings, Onch Movement ice cream necklace, Fifi Romeo plastic cuffs, DUEPUNTI rings, and last but not least, that weird face mask were the ones to draw our attention instantly. Minaj, who won the award for Best Hip-Hop Video, said that, “Tokyo inspires this outfit. You know, Harajuku is something I have been absorbing for a very long time.”
