Demi Lovato is leaving 'The X Factor' judge table after two seasons. The singer is planning to spend her time and effort exclusively on music in 2014, according to a source, who told People magazine that: "She plans to spend next year completely focused on her music."
The news was also confirmed by the series creator, Simon Cowell, who was aware of the star's demanding schedule: “I always knew she wasn't coming back because she's touring, so I knew that,” he stated. Indeed, she is preparing for her first Neon Lights tour which starts in February, so she will definitely have her hands full until March, at least.
However, until then, the singer is reportedly getting ready for a month-long vacation to be able to do things she hadn't done in a while, especially since she's also had a few short appearances on 'Glee': "I will take the month of January completely off! I want to vacation! I want to watch crime shows on my DVR on my couch ... I need to do some exercising and I don't really have time to do it. I love horseback riding and never get to do that stuff, but January is my time to do all of that," she stated.
Sounds like the perfect strategy to recharge one's batteries, doesn't it? As for the star who could potentially take the hitmaker's place as a judge on the show, there are no speculations at the moment. However, the singer has the door open in case she wants to return when things get a little less hectic and her schedule clears up, reports say.
It will be interesting to see which strategy 'The X Factor' producers will use to boost the low ratings the show had for the past three seasons. It seems that a first change will be the role Cowell will have in the new series: "As to my role on it, I might have a different kind of role, we haven't discussed that yet." There are also some rumors saying the format might chance, however, no specific details have been disclosed up until now.
