The Body Shop has named Leona Lewis as their new brand activist. The British songstress will appear in the label's campaign wearing products from a limited-edition makeup collection featuring cruelty-free, vegetarian products.
The new Leona Lewis for The Body Shop collaboration
promotes cruelty free and ethical cosmetic products. The Body Shop
label is famous for their products that have not been tested on
animals for cosmetic reasons, and seems to have made the perfect
choice since the British songstress is a long-time animal rights
supporter and vegetarian.
As a part of the collaboration, Leona Lewis will star in the
cosmetic company's campaign to end testing on animals for good and
will lend her name to a special new makeup and fragrance collection
for The Body Shop.
“I'm passionate about beauty and I'm all about animal rights. As a
result, I'm really conscious of where the products that I use come
from. The Body Shop sells cruelty free, ethical products containing
amazing Community Fair Trade ingredients. The collaboration is a
natural fit,” Leona said.
The Limited Edition Collection by Leona Lewis for The Body
Shop is set to be launched on March 26. The line will feature
vegetarian cosmetics and packaging marked with a floral deer motif
and will include a blusher brush (£14), Shimmer Palettes (£16 each)
in blush and bronze compacts, each containing three shades, lip
gloss (£7 each) in bronze, coral, fuchsia and petal, and a White
Musk Libertine EDT and EDP (from £10) incorporating notes of musk,
Turkish delight, baby orchid and Chantilly cream.
Moreover, this May, The Body Shop customers will have the
possibility to sign a pledge in support of non-profit organization
Cruelty Free International that is calling for a global ban on
animal testing for cosmetic purposes.
Leona follows the footsteps of British actress Lily Cole who was
The Body Shop's first-ever global brand ambassador and appeared in
their 'Beauty With Heart' campaign. The label also released a
limited-edition cruelty-free and 100% vegetarian makeup line that
included products that have not been tested on animals. “The Body
Shop takes a responsible attitude to people and the environment,
and it feels amazing to be supporting a brand that's a pioneer in
that way of working,” Cole said.
