With all the different products launched by Justin Bieber, keeping up with the latest novelties can be quite challenging. After recently announcing his own branded dental care products just a while back, now the teen sensation is planning on releasing a new women fragrance called “Someday”. To be able to get to the hearts of his female fans, Justin has not only chosen a “fruity gourmand” formula, but he also opted for a very feminine design for the perfume bottle: a red heart shaped flower with removable charms.
The star didn’t stay aside waiting for the product to be developed. Instead, he decided to give producers a helping hand:
“They really let me take the lead on the entire project, because I know my fans better than anyone — from working with the team on the development of the fragrance itself to helping to design the bottle and packaging”, declared the young singer.
The motivation behind this new project was revealed by the artist himself: “Let’s be real, the way a girl smells is very important to a guy! I have such a deep connection with my fans, so creating a fragrance that I personally love is another way I can bring them closer to my world.” Indeed, it is almost impossible to argue against this statement if we are to take into account the impressive sales figures for all his branded products.
But JB is not only releasing a new product just for the sake of his own profit. It seems that the new product will give the star the chance to display his generosity by donating to charity. His charity of choice? The Give Back foundation. The singer himself revealed his priorities by declaring “Not only am I able to create a fragrance for all my fans, but I am able to give back to charity, which is a huge priority for me. The people at Give Back Brands really get me, and what I represent and care about.”
Aside from his devoted fans, cosmetic retailers also have high expectations regarding the teen heartthrob’s first prestige scent. Muriel Gonzalez, Macy’s executive vice president and fragrance manager declared: “Justin Bieber is an international star with a built-in fan base from the social media sphere. He speaks to a young, socially conscious and digitally connected consumer, and we are excited to offer his new fragrance. But with proceeds benefiting various designated charities, Justin is sending a terrific message that you can be socially responsible at any age. We are confident that his global appeal with teens, tweens, twentysomethings and their moms will translate to traffic both in-store and online.”
Jessica Hanson, director of fragrances at Sephora seems to share a similar view: “We felt it was important to launch the collection for a variety of reasons, including it is on trend with our younger fragrance client, there is a strong socially driven charity component and, of course, a very popular celebrity. As well, the juice is a fruity floral, which is always a popular fragrance family with our client. We’ve never had a male celebrity sell a women’s fragrance: however, Justin certainly speaks to our younger fragrance clients.”
The ‘Someday’ fragrances will be available starting with June. Fans will be able to choose between a 1 ounce bottle priced at $35, a 1.7 ounce version priced at $45 or a 3.4 ounce bottle at $55. We cannot wait to smell the bouquet of scents that defines the newest JB fragrance. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to do it.
