Hair: straightening.

Beauty tips.
April 04, 2008

Now presuming you want straight hair, the essential item for your hair is the faithful hair straighteners. Now i am sure you are expecting me to recommend GHDs, whilst being good they are hugely over-priced and in my experience you can get the same results and spend far less.

Usually any Babyliss straighteners are good, Toni & Guy are also highly recommended. Now you have the best straighteners, how to use them is key. If you straighteners have a heat setting i suggest that you use somthing in the middle 120-150 i the best range, i say this because even when using heat protection spray too much higher can lead to your hair burning.

Straighten from the roots right down to the tip and if at this point the tip doesn’t stay as straight as you like concentrate on straightening the tip alone. If you still cannot get the tip straight i suggest using some wax on the tips to aid this. With longer hair straightening the back of your hair is vital, but not so much with the shorter hair.

Temperatures and Hairtypes:

This section of the straightening tips, is designed to help you with your straightening curly hair

 Curly hair:

I hear alot of people who have really curly hair compalining straighteners don’t work! This is not true, they just haven’t gotten the temperature setting right, they think that if they set them to the hottest setting then it will straighten their hair more effeciently, DO NOT do this. For Curly hair set your straighteners to the middle setting, and take your time. Straighten from tip to end slowly and firmly and repeat this for as many times as you need to achieve straight hair. It is probably worth buying some “Straightening serum” too.
