Showing 1 - 15 of 47 commentsOh I survive BUT BARELY!! Oh thanks. It would be so fun to design a mansion 4 you. AND I promise, I won't do you a Barbie's dreamhouse, something kind of tomboy chic perhaps. And remember, we still have a date at Kleinfelds to pick out ur wedding dress. You promissed!
Well, I wasn't EXACTLY fishing 4 a compliment, but if you want to say so, I'll just enjoy it. My father was anything but a cool dad, but my mommy is definitely a cool mom. So having one awesome parent is ok although 2 are better I guess.I guess all kids are closer to one parent anyway even if they have 2 and I've always idolized my mom because she's successful AND stylish. Oh gosh, is your family originally from nj? Maybe you'd move back and we cold hang out in the summer :D Just as long as yu don't make me play tennis or stuff :)))
I think the team Peeta and Team Gale stuff is kinda dumb. Actually, I don't care for the boy characters that much, other than Cinna and Flavius of course. Next to Katniss, I think Rue was a really great character. Maybe I should join Team Rue. I would never spoil the books for you. I hate when people do that stuff even if it's dumb like telling who won Project Runway. But they do grab you like that, don't they? Like Harry Potter, at least the early ones. That would be an awesome combination. You would be strong, beautiful, and exotic. So what should my combo be?
Glad you liked the outfit. Thanks. I usually put together girlier sets, but tried for the Katniss look. Oh that must've been scary, getting stalked. I totally understand. Most of the stuff I post is from BG anyway so maybe you've already seen it. But I'll message u if I see something awesome.
Ronny, Ronny, Ronny. Don't worry. Even though I cried myself to sleep, I'll be okay :))) But sorry that you were in a trashy mood but realize why. I hope your feeling better. Yeah all girls go though it (listen to me!!) but the upside is you get to wear more fabulous clothes. And I'm sure ur charm would shine though anyways. It must've been awfully tough to be a woman in those days. I mean Jane Austen was one of the few who used her own name and her books weren't that famous when she was alive. But it must've been awesome for the flappers to dump the corsets, cut their hair, put on short dresses, smoke (even tho I hate smoking), and drink, and do other stuff. I love that era too.
But things are different now. I just read where women are getting over 60% of the bachelors and masters degrees and half of the PHDs. So when you take over the country, remember who ur friends are. Plus you'll still need guys like me to design your clothes, do your makeup, decorate your mansions etc.
Oh the ballet sword fighting was unbelievable. Boys in tights with swords, hmmm. But they did a thing at intermission where they said that they not only fight but have to clash their swords in time with the music. Oh is this your aunt that lives near Atlantic City? And the boyfriend, ugh. I guess I'm pretty metro myself, but at least i know when and when not to wear makeup and how to do it. And yeah, everyone's an "artist." But does he make any money? And them PDAs in front of you. How awful?
I'm glad you at least had some fun. Nancy sounds nice. Some kids can survive weird parents. I guess her mom and dad don't live together. Of course mine don't either and look how I turned out (????) It's cool that you saw Hunger Games. I've read the books but haven't seen the movie yet. Waiting for the crowds to die down. I thought the books were totally fabulous. I think theyre right up your alley. Katniss is such a wonderful character. So strong and courageous. Wish I was like that sometimes. Oh and i did a polyvore set based on Hunger games. It's not that good but ck it out.

Oh and I tried to post a fashion story on your FB wall and couldn't do it because of access. Would you rather I just message them to you or what?
I'm on spring break this week Yay and am planting flowers with my mom today. Hope you have a wonderful week too. I'm sure it'll be better than last week.
Yeah, I intentionally wanted you to pick the "right answer :D If we were in a 19th century novel, we'd probably be talking about 18th century clothes ha ha. Have you read any Jane Austen. She's great even though she wrote around 1800 and her sentences can be a little long and convoluted. I always picture myself as rich in those old books and movies, but I'd probably be a servant or stable boy or something. Maybe we should call ourselves the "Twin Opposites."
Yay, we agree about Misty. She's the worst. But I liked Lexie a bit. She definitely wasn't a tomboy, like your friend, but she did know how to get under her mom's skin and shut her up. And your Lexie souds nice and her mom too. Tell her mom that there are worse things than being a girl being a tomboy (like a boy being a sissy for one. It's definitely worse). My mom is very cool about raising us. She has rules but not that many and understands that we need to try different things.
I used to go to Emma's pageants with mommy. (That's where I was "discovered" for modeling :D Did i ever tell u that story?) But mom was not a "pageant mom" at all. It was more that Emma was like ultra girly and just loved that stuff (She's now college preppy and cringes at her pageant girl photos). But I agree with you that moms who do that stuff to little girls are the worst. Living your life though your children is just sick. And you don't need all that makeup because you're pretty naturally.
The ballet yesterday was so fabulous. You obviously know the basic story. Have you seen the play or the movie? I've seen several different versions including one all-girl production :D Think of how this play has influenced things though. It's produced operas, ballet, and "West Side Story." I'd give you a complete review but I don't want to bore you too much.
But the costumes were just luscious (that's the only word I can think of), and the dancing was awesome. In one scene, the boys in the corps wore fuchsia tights with cute little boots instead of ballet slippers. Juliet (Lauren Cuthbertson) was just beautiful and acted like a young girl and Romeo (Federico Bonelli) was totally handsome. What leg muscles, omg! He looked fabulous in tights. The pas de deux in Act I was just awesome. And the music was really perfect. Great orchestra.
And all the sword fighting was terrific. Anyone who thinks that ballet is sissy should see these guys fighting!! It was great. Lauren said in an interview that in one performance Federico showed up for Act III with a big gash on his face from the sword fight in Act II. There were six of us there and we all were thrilled by the whole thing. It took over three hours. Then we went and ate Thai food which was fun.
Today it's back to school. But it's Friday and it's warm. So why complain, huh?
Well, Miss Veronica, you're not surprised by my charm school experience? Is that because (a) I'm so obviously charming or (b) because I'm definitely the type to do something dumb like that :D Of course, it must be (a) of course. And let me know whenever u want advice on the proper way to hold a teacup or what a fish fork looks like (yeah, you REALLY see a lot of fish forks around, right!). Actually, I love your sassy sense of humor. A bit like my sister Julia, who I can never get the best of. But in this case, she can't kid me because she had to go too :D
Yeah, parents can be weird (not my mom though). Not only did they raise us but we inherited their genes. So somewhere there must've been some strand of DNA that makes me what I am. Could there have been an earlier Jackie and Ronny in the 19th century? Fortunately, daddy dearest left us for his PA (he's a lawyer) when I was 10 and I don't see him much. But he still provides money which is cool I guess. And at first I tried to become more like he wanted me to be, but it was a losing battle. Throwing and catching are unnatural acts 4 me and fortunately I had an athletic kid sister to take his attention.
So how did we become friends given our differences? Good question. Opposites attract sometimes. Most of my friends are totally girly because we have lots in common, but I have a few tomboy pals too.(my protection team :D) I actually really admire sporty, adventurous girls even if I don't understand it too much. Plus you and I both can laugh at stuff AND love vintage clothing. And I move gracefully but trip a lot too. So there it is. Ronny and Jackie, The (non-identical) charm twins.
Oh it think you're vegetable garden story is so lovely. I din't actually cry but did get a nice feeling about it. I never though of it as fairy-taleish but I guess I can see that. Maybe Mr. Macgregor's garden in Peter Rabbit. ( Or how about "Jackie, Jackie, totally wacky, how does your garden grow?" Wait that's a nursery rhyme), Anyway, I never knew you lived in a different place. Which do you like better? Can't you see me as a farmer in bib overalls, maybe calf length in fuchsia or coral? :)))
OMG, this mother was awful. I would die if my mom ever acted that way. Anyway, MIsty is a "pageant" mom who totally wanted 2 dominate her daughter Lexie. She was a self-absorbed, clueless blonde, and didn't look that much older than Lexie. I'm sure she was a small-town beauty queen in her youth, probably a cheerleader, homecoming queen and beauty pageant contestant. Sometimes those types don't let go of all that -- she was clearly trying to hog the camera for attention, complete with hair piece and plastic surgery.
My mom and I were screaming when Misty, told the gown she had picked, and that everyone loved on Lexie was twice the budget, said, "Well, nobody told me I had to consider the budget!" Andthen she urged Lexie to buy it anyway, saying "We'll figure out a way to make it happen," and Lexie said to the camera, "There's no 'we' involved in this. My fiance and I are paying for the wedding." She then turned to Misty and said, "Are you going to chip in?" and Misty just pouted at her. uggggh
It reminded me of "Toddlers and Tiaras" which must be the worst show around. Poor kids to have moms (and dads) like that. My sister Emma did some pageants but never with all that makeup and fake hairdos.
Ha ha, Rony and Jackie, the charm twins. Actually, I did go to "charm school" (that's what the girls called it; it was actually etiquette classes) when i was 12. That's why I'm so well-mannered :))))
Oh gosh, what a horrible teacher. "Most hated in ny" that's so funny. It's a big state, so that's an achievement. So, this'll crack you up, butwhen I was real young I overheard my father and mother having an argument. He screamed at her that she was making me "the biggest sissy in the state of Maryland because she let me play with barbies and taught me to sew and stuff instead of doing things that "real" boys do like play sports. OMG, I felt really awful then, but I laugh about it now. I hope u don't mind that I'm not exactly Mr. Macho :D I really wish u could get a better teacher because I think you would love French if you had someone who loved teaching it. After all, it's the language of fashion and ballet.
I'm glad I helped. Stuff like that can be confusing in any language. You're just so sweet to ask. Maybe you went to charm school too :D Last weekend was lovely. I loved mommy's friends because they treated me like a grown up and we talked about all kinds of things like clothes, makeup, men (yuck). I don't know if I mentioned it, but I was in a theatre workshop on Friday and Saturday near our shore house and it really had me tied up. I FINALLY finished with that workshop late last night. It was fun, and I learned a lot, and met some great kids my age like me :D but I;m totally EXHAUSTED. I'm taking today to help my mom plant some spring stuff (peas, spinach, carrots) in our vegetable garden. It's small but the soil is sooo good, stuff just grows.
So what are your plans for the weekend and the week? Did u see "Say Yes to the dress--Atlanta" on Friday? It was a really good show. But there was one mother who was just terrible. Her name was "Misty" ugh
We are a team Rony!!! Also, you take all the boys and I''ll charm the girl customers :D That probably won't work, though, not enuf boys. Hey, don't get too down about French. We all have different talents and things that we suck at. If you ever saw me try to throw or catch a ball, you would be laughing your ass off. I'm absolutely terrible. When I'd throw it it would go about 10 feet in the wrong direction and when I'd try to catch it, it would bounce off my glove and stuff. My sister gave up trying to teach me. But there are other things I'm good at. So we're all different :D
Of course you're French Canadian friends speak perfect French, why not? I still think you can probably do better. part of it is probably the teacher. My first French teacher was a native and she spoke beautifully and always would make it really interesting. You sound like you have a dud.
Yeah, there's so much online now that it is kinda creepy. I figure if i look hard enough, I'll find a relative just like me. Some Irish fashion designer or interior decorator :D You're right tat most translate programs don't handle expressions really well because they don't always translate from one language to another. But Google Translate if the best one I've found. As a joke, I typed in "I was like, "omg that dress is so cute; I love it" and it came back with "J'étais comme, "Oh mon dieu cette robe est si mignon, je l'aime". Not bad because it recognized what omg means. But I don't use it as a crutch.
I think your reply was pretty good, MMle
* French is pretty flexible about word placement. So it's ok where it is. But You could put it before the verb if you want You could also use "aussi"
* I got the second part. It looked perfect to me. What did you want to tell your mom that you liked fashion and writing or something else.
Ummm, the verb "to write" in french is "ecrire" and it's like I write is j'ecris, she writes is elle ecrit, etc. "Writing" as a noun is "ecriture" like l'ecriture de Rony est excellente. But "writing" can also be a verb form (I think it's called a present participle) too like "I am writing this letter to tell you..." would be "je vous écris cette lettre pour vous dire..." Does that make sense? It's probably just as bad in English.
We have company this weekend, two of my mom's friends from college. We went to an art museum yesterday after school. So I got to escort three very fashionable women. It was cool and I love this little museum called the Philips Collection. Lots of ballet pictures by Degas and stuff. I hope you're having a great weekend. And don't worry about the French. I know you'll pick it up and the parents think you're great anyway :D
I think you're right that your parents need to help you get started anyway. I met with some distant cousins who knew stuff about my great grandparents. And their stories are worth a lot. I have an advantage where I live because I can go to the National Archives, Library of Congress, and the Mormon Temple. The Mormons keep all these records because they convert people after they die, which seems a little weird but they let anybody go through them. There's also some online sites like ancestry.com.
So let's break this French thing down line by line:
Bonjour Madamoiselle Veronica. Je m'appelle Jackie - That one's easy
Je suis tres heureux de vous rencontrer. - I'm very glad to meet you
Vous etes une tre jolie te intelligente jeune fille You're a very pretty and intelligent young girl
J'adore la mode et le style. - I love fashion and style.
Qu'est-ce que vous aimez? - What (things) do you like?
Dis a votre mere que vous allez faire mieux la prochaine fois! - Tell your mother that yo'l do better next time
It does take some memorization (and guessing sometime) and the idioms can be strange sometimes. But I think you'll catch on. Have you ever tried Google Translate. It's really pretty good. I know you'll improve and when we open our shop, I'll take care of all the French customers :D
Hey Miss R.,
I will be sure to say hi to Donovan for you when I see him. But it might be the summer at the beach. I'm sure he'll be delighted to know he has a new fan. I guess it's a fine line between innocent gossip and becoming mean. I try to stay on the right side, but.... (well you know). It really makes me mad sometimes when people think that fashion and style are frivolous subjects and that if we care about how we look we're airheads (or if you're a boy, worse than that). My sister Julia is like that, rolls her eyes when me and my other sister talk about how a dress fits or colors. But she's getting better as she gets older. Maybe it's boys or something :D
I agree that Emma Stone is a real talent. I loved her in "The Help," kinda' identified with her character 'cause of liking to write. To me, she has one of the most natural smiles of anyone in Hollywood. And at least your relatives still like to cook Italian. I know where and when my relatives came from in Ireland, but not much more. Sometime I hope to do a genealogy project, if I ever get the time. I bet it would be cool to visit the area where our ancestors came from in Ireland and Italy.
Owwwww, I'm sure that French F hurt a lot. Were you expecting it? Is this your first year? But don't think of yourself as a failure because you're not. It's just one test. Anyways, a teacher can make a lot of difference. I've had good ones, so it comes pretty easy for me, but bad ones can make it hard. I like languages. French especially because it's the language of ballet and used to be the language of fashion. I would love to go to Paris. . And I would be glad to help you if I can, although I'm no expert. What is the hardest part for you: translations or speaking? But at least we can chat in French sometimes, like
Bonjour Madamoiselle Veronica.
Yeah, Donovan is really cute and sweet, a really nice boy. He's a little small for his age but bright (it runs in the family :D). His parents both work for the same company and they have an on-site daycare so he gets to be with other kids, some older. I guess it helps in talking early. Girls' night sounds like fun. It's amazing how many times you can redo nails. Unfortunately, boys don't do stuff like that ))))). I love gabbing and gossip and talking about clothes and stuff.which is why most of my close friends are girls (not all though).
I think that coral is right about the color for Michelle William's dress. I should have realized that. And I pride myself on my color sense :D Oh Mila's dress was absolutely gorgeous (and you did spell her name perfectly)--all those sequins and the one shoulder look was great. I also loved her retro hairstyle and I thought the sequinned clutch was perfect. And I agree about J. Lo. Maybe motherhood is getting to her :p And i thought Angelina Jolie's show of leg was a bit much. One more that I loved was Emma Stone's dress that I thought was really elegant. Some people are saying she copied a dress Nicole Kidman wore five years ago. But that is so wrong:anyone can see that the two dresses are a totally different color and cut.
Randy is really great--one of my role models. And you know he's Italian (last name Fenoli). He has such a nice way of helping the brides handle stressful situations. I think Clinton must be having some problems because he wasn't that mean last year. But I copy his style a lot. He's Irish, but I'd rather turn out like Randy than him :D I think Stacy is really great. I think she has a degree from Yale.
All the best families are messy, so don't feel bad. We're mostly Irish but have a few Italians and latinas thrown in the mix. One of my mom's brothers is married to a beautiful latina who adds spice to our family parties. AND I even have an African Aunt Nerissa who is married to my mom's sister Alexandra (See our family is a little complicated too (or messy if you like). I love my Italian aunts (both great cooks) cause they're more emotional than the Irish side. My aunt Ada taught me a lot about cooking and always takes my side in things (even with her own two sons (yuck, nit my favorite cousins).
Things are going good at school. I take French, American history, Biology, Language Arts (or English!!!!), show dance, and costume design. I hope I didn't tell u that before. How about you? Friday night we're going to see a play--Two gentlemen of Verona--good old Shakespeare. Should be fun!! Do you have any plans for the weekend.
Oh, you didn't mention Hugo. Did you se it? Did you like it? Do I ask two many questions???? YES
nice to meet you too :3
Heheh,that's what I do all day ^_^
We all have that phase..I hope it's really just a phase :) If i got it right,I'm 6 hours ahead of you.Have a great time in school :DDD
XOXO
you're profile photo is Vanessa Hudgens. I love her! :D
Hey Miss Rony,
Great new photo!! I love the B&W, plus it shows off your smile and your eyes. Kinda like seeing "The Artist" in B&W with no sound :D
That's great that u guys are seeing Hugo tonight. Hope you like it. It cleaned up on a lot of the artistic awards last night (it deserved to!!!) and The Artist got most of the rest. Did you see any of the Oscars? The awards were a little boring, but the clothes were lovely. Lots of champagne colored gowns for some reason. But I loved the dress Michelle Williams wore. It was a a Louis Vuitton with a structured, backless bustier and a tiered skirt. She wore an adorable bow brooch on her right hip and carried a cute pink clutch, which gave the whole look a touch of whimsy. Here's one link, although the writer says her dress was orange, I saw it as red verging on fushia. It's hard 2 tell colors sometimes. I also thought Jessica Chatain wore a gorgeous dress. Rooney Mara looked fabulous 2, and I loved her hair. Here's one link that shows some of the clothes. I also put some of them in one of my lists.
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/02/27/rooney-mara-michelle-williams-kristen-wiig-2012-oscars-best-worst-and-wilted.html />
I spend most of the weekend in Pennsylvania at my (2nd) cousin Donovan's birthday party (he's two). It was a lot of fun. Lots of little kids bashing a pinata and great food. Plus I have lots of cousins to hang out with (typical Irish family I guess). Mom, Jules, and I went gift shopping Friday night. It was fun picking out clothes for a 2-3 year old kid. I did a great job of restraining my wildness. Didn't want to make Donovan a little lord Fauntleroy like I was :D We picked out a really cute outfit from Guess: Blue and white madras shorts with a blue canvas belt and a blue tee. Donovan will be totally cool in the summer!!
I take your point about WNTW being a little mean sometimes. I really like Stacy and Clinton because they have great taste and advice but Clinton, especially, has been really snarky this year. I really like his style, though. Randy on SYTTD is a much nicer person.
I want to hear everything about this epic girls' night out. It sounded awesome.
I hope so too :)
I've never been fan of French,it's nice language but grammar is a little bit weird.I'm sure you'll do better next time.
I'm just relaxing this week, cuz I have practice and I don't go to school :D Life,it could always be better but I'm not complaing, yours? :D I don't know, you need to tell me in what time zone are you,so I can look :)
XOXO
Hiiiiiiiiiii ^_^
Sry we couldn't talk on fb..But I've been busy,I had concert with folklore, and now I'm back in school -.- And our time difference is big..
Soo tell me,how are you doing, anything new? :)
XOXO
