Justin Timberlake has partnered with his longtime friend and interior decorator Estee Stanley in order to create a line of home goods, accessories and art for HomeMint. The collection will be available exclusively online starting this May.
At 31, Justin
Timberlake is a super-talented singer, actor and fashion
designer. Well, in addition to his impressive resume, Timberlake
will design a collection of home decor goods for HomeMint. Justin
will make the special line together with his own interior designer,
Estee Stanley.
In an exclusive interview with Elle Decor, the pop star explained
the reasons for creating this line.
"Well, this was really a collaboration with Estee. I don’t think I
would do it if we weren’t in it together. We’ve known each other
for a long time and have worked together on my homes — we really
have a like-minded vision for design so when BeachMint [the company
behind HomeMint and sister sites StyleMint and BeautyMint] came to
us with the opportunity, it felt like a really natural thing for us
to do together. Estee and I are great friends, so it’s a lot of
fun," he said.
In a statement, Justin Timberlake admitted that, "HomeMint combines
my love of architecture and interior design with my passion
for technology and social media to create a brand that offers
aspirational designs for the home at accessible prices."
BeachMint CEO Josh Berman said that, "We’re excited to bring an
affordable luxury home collection to our customers that combines
Estee’s extraordinary portfolio of work and design experience with
Justin’s impeccable aesthetic and sense of style." President Diego
Berdakin added that, "HomeMint is a natural addition to our family
of brands. BeachMint's social commerce experience is about
personalization and curation and there is no place that's more
important than a customer's home."
Speaking about their main source of inspiration, Estee told Elle
Decor that they are "more into antiques than contemporary pieces."
Timberlake added that, "It’s true. Also, I like very clean, almost
modern architecture, and the obstacle with something like that is
making it extremely warm, because it doesn’t naturally lend itself
to that. With everything we do together, we try to get the
juxtaposition right. To make pieces and rooms that are
multifaceted, that blend different genres of architecture and
design."
The singer also said that, "When you’re working on something as
personal as your home, it’s about the relationship. And that’s what
BeachMint is all about—at the end of the day, we’re not looking at
the people on HomeMint as consumers, we’re looking at them as
clients. And we want to have a relationship with them. To offer our
design suggestions."
Asked about the pieces from the collection he wants for his own
home, Justin told Elle Decor that, "Not to sound like I’m
generalizing, but I think all of it. That’s the standard we hold it
to. If we wouldn’t put it in our homes, we’re not going to ask
people to put it in theirs."
The collection will be available exclusively online at homemint.com
starting this May. Both HomeMint members, who pay a monthly $10
fee, and non-members will have the possibility to buy the products.
BeachMint also includes JewelMint, a jewelry line started in
October 2010 with actress Kate Bosworth and her stylist Cher
Coulter, StyleMint, a T-shirt company made by Mary-Kate and Ashley
Olsen, BeautyMint, which launched in November 2011 with Jessica
Simpson, and ShoeMint, released a few weeks later with Rachel
Bilson, Nicole Chavez and Steve Madden.
