Well first of all, you really should consider telling someone near you about it. I've not heard of anyone who has gotten out of their depressive state alone (if it isn't a temporary one caused by recent stressors --since you do this often, I doubt it's temporary) . If you are depressed, talk to an adult or someone older about what's causing you to feel this way and they'll help you to over come it.
But until you do so, you have to practice mind over matter, and to force yourself not to hurt yourself whenever you feel this way. You can try to gain a new hobby or skill. Photography, learning to draw, or just learning to sew or do something related to anything you like or are interested in. Stop giving cutting advice to people "across the street, not down the road" , in fact, stop thinking about it or you'll end up missing out on pleasant things. Your first priority should be seeking help, the next is working hard to get out of the depressive state and enjoying life.

I'm emo.
Well, as you know, a lot of emos cut because they rather feel pain than nothing at all. I'm one of those people, not the cutting type, but I do use pencils to scratch and leave marks on my arm that are red. I need to think of something else that doesn't involve hurting myself. I need something that can keep my mind off depression. You know how things can get...I don't want scars all over my body, I heard what it can do and lead up to. Across the street, not down the road! I need advice, thanks guys.
