scene style i have hair to a bit past my shoulders and i want the type of style where it has real choppy layers at the top but they get longer as my hair goes down

My hair used to be long, and like the spontaneous person I am, I just walked in my bathroom and cut it all off one day and I've hated it since, so I'm growing it back out but it just looks horrible and so awkward. What hairstyles or cuts can I do to make it bearable until it's finally long again?

I am thinking about either dying my hair all black or dark dark brown then putting colors at the bottom half. And, I just want a haircut that compliments my asiann face. Help?

Ive been growing my hair for around 2 years now. Its pretty long but my hair is so thin and straight that i think it makes my face look quite fat. Im really tempted to have it cut into a choppy bob, that reaches my chin but dont quite have enough courage at the moment! What do you think?
