I guess you just need to convince them that they're doing it because they want it,and that is the best for them,show them what there is for them in it.Because only look for themselves,so I say manipulation.

Dragana is right. The easiest way to sway someone to your opinion is to make it seem like it's beneficial for them. When you're debating with them, plead your case thoroughly. Consider every argument they might have ahead of time and find a way to counter it.
