Your hair won't go lighter unless it's bleached. If shes afraid of the damage it will cause buy a hair mask from a store or you can make home made ones. Keep doing that for a few weeks and it'll be fine.

Ombre look but without bleach? Possible?
I have never dyed my hair and i want to go for the ombre look as a first time hair dyed look. however i dont want to bleach my hair partly also as my mum isnt allowing me due to the damaging affects so hair colouring experts; do u think it will work out to give a natural ombre ish effect if i get a light brown dye and dye the ends? ( my hair is dark dark brown btw) Any other suggestions welcome! thanks
