And I don't think anyone will reject you though I don't have much idea about how to ask someone out.

It's not out of the question to ask him out yourself as well.
Sometimes guys are too nervous/shy/afraid of rejection just like us and never muster up the courage to ask someone out because of it. Even if they're the most outgoing guy, if it's someone they truly fancy, they'll be scared.
So yeah, try asking him out? or try showing interest in it around him , by posing a lot of questions and whatnot. However, I will tell you, it may go over his head..

Like silence said,why don't you ask him?I know it take A LOT of courage,but why not.Try to find out is he going with someone and stuff like that,ask him,talk to him etc..But he might get turn off by that,but who knows..Good luck :)

I agree with silence, too. Just ask him. He may be too nervous to ask you. It takes some courage, but it'll be worth it if he says yes! If he doesn't, just shake it off. No biggie! (:

im with them, ask him (: you could be just straight out 'do you wanna go to the dance with me?' or a little more subtly like 'so.. are you going to the dance?..did you find a date? oh well maybe we should go together if your up for it' make it a little more out there if you want or a little more subtle, either way (: remember , guys dont have the best confidence either... one of my guy friends has been obsessing over asking a gorgeous popular girl to our winter formal.. turns out she cant go but they have plans to hang out later (: its always worth a try!
