Okay, I'm in 7th grade and I always wear makeup! :) I've been wearing it since 3rd grade. I started off with light colors. And just a touch of mascara and then as I grew up I started using bronzer and blush and eyeliner and just about everything. lol I suggest you start off with a light shade of eyeshadow. :) Good Luck with that!! :P

Well, I think you're definitely old enough to try SOME makeup. But you don't want to go crazy with it. I think you should just have an honest talk with your mom and tell her you're just going to try out light applications of mascara, lipgloss, blush, or bronzer,and maybe some eye makeup. Tell her you won't overdo it, especially for everyday, and say that if she thinks you're overdoing it, you'll cut back. I agree with Terri you'd be smart to avoid foundations and concealers and all that junk. At your age, you don't really need it.

And before you start using it, there are lots of tutorials on youtube about how to do it right. So check those out.

I think you can definitely go with some lipgloss, mascara and eyeshadow and still look pretty natural. And I also think you should keep it at just that in the beginning, and of course, later you'll get in the hang of it and find out what looks good on you, and which products you'd like to add. As for your mom, you should just tell her that you want to try new things and maybe even ask her to do your makeup to show her that you're not trying to grow up too fast or anything, you just want too add a little something to your everyday look. :)

I think you have to see how much make up you can wear at school. In my middle school, who ever had any makeup on (except for lip gloss) was asked to pay a dollar for cleansing wipes.
Second part: if the school rules say nothing about wearing make up:
Start from wearing a bit of coloured lip gloss or plain lip gloss, and then gradually increase the amount of make up you wear, but without going over board (smokey eyes are not appropriate for school), but use make up to enhance your natural beauty.
Try getting your mum involved with your make up experience as for her it means you're growing up, so she needs to be assured you'll still include her in your .life.

Okay, you're in sixth grade. I was wearing eyeliner, light eyeshadow and mascara. :) NO BLUSH. You will break out.. :)
