Well it sounds like this is really important to you and your friends should understand that and let you be Jasmine. So who is the "somebody else?" Could you talk to her and explain how you feel and maybe suggest another character for her (like Ariel, the little mermaid or something). If she's a true friend, she'l agree with you and that will shut the other girls up (I hope)

I also think that if you talk to her and they don't agree that you just both be jasmine and see who pulls it off better. Bring your A game. I would just take it as a challege. In High School Show Choir our Soprano section did Disney Princesses and I was Jasmine because I was the closest to her color. HAHAH I actually really loved Jasmine so it was okay.
Just don't let anyone push you around. Tell them all how you really feel and that this means a lot to you. Doesn't sound like very good friends if they wont listen to reason.
