Be yourself....let others think what they want to think...behave naturally without being extra nerdy or gangsta....don't let yourself be suppressed but be careful not to humiliate others if it's not necessary.....that's my advice...:)

Ewwwwww, doesn't sound like the best school for you. I had to go to an all boys school once where everyone except me was into sports and stuff and it was awful because I got picked on all the time. I had to get out or I would been all messed up. Is there any chance you can change to another school with no gangsters? If not, I'd do what the others said--just be yourself. There's gotta be other kids there like you and eventually you'll find them and make new friends. You know who you are so just try to be YOU and things'll work out.

Be yourself! I used to be super shy... then I MY friends, and we clicked, and I've become myself. I'm no ,onger scared of being embarrssed, different or wierd. And thats what you need to do. I have a black/gangster school (not trying to be racist, please dont get offended anyone) where the majority does drugs, sex, drinking, and saggy pants. You need to find friends who don't push you to be anyone but yourself.

I don't think there is something wrong with you,everyone of us wants to either fit in or just put an impression to make ourselves exist in the eyes of others.Just be yourself,don't mind them.

I would hope that by now things have improved for you, for the benefit of anyone reading this who is in a similar situation my advice would be that although there are tremendous pressures for us to conform to ingroup behaviours in society, it is ultimately far wiser to be true to yourself. There are, and have been, millions of people who have been in and are in the same situation as you. So many more people than you realise who are directly around you in the same situation are experiencing the same problems, most hiding their true selves in order to be socially accepted. Search around for people who share similar interests as you, hobbies and after-school sports are a great way to make new friends and meet new people. Don't give up hope, strive to make yourself as happy as you possibly can. I wish you all the best now and in the future. James.
