Well, your problem sounds like more of a de-cluttering thing than cleaning. One idea for the stuff you can get rid of is to have a yard sale. They're fun to do and people always like other people's junk :D But the old stuff you can't throw out, I'd try to put it in an attic or basement or something. But organize it and arrange it neatly so you can easily find the pieces you might need.

Any tips on cleaning?
I got my house clean, but i need it spotless for a get-together we are having for some family. I'm at a stopping point, do I throw everything that doesn't have a place in the house yet into a pile and work from there or what?? I just have so much useless crap, I've even thrown some of it away. Anybody have the same problem and found a solution? The house is a hand me down from my fiance's gpa so it has a lot of old stuff in it that isn't ours so I can't just throw it out.
