Fall/Winter 2010-2011 makeup trends come in a myriad of styles and colors, yet every single one of them has the power to create and reflect a strong, yet sweet and delicate woman. All the autumnal colors with daring accents, the timeless smoky eye makeup with a retro, uber-feminine touch and the already classic red lipstick are meant to emphasize your traits in a stunning and unique way.
For fall/winter 2010-2011 makeup trends, nude is hot especially
if you are looking for something more traditional and severe. The
skin should be clean and perfect. You can use different shades of
beige and other natural colors in order to get a flawless skin.
Draw your inspiration from the Phillip Lim runway show. For a more
special event, you can still play the natural card by replacing
beige with iridescent pink with a brown touch for the eyebrows,
lips and cheekbones. For your lips you could go for a lighter shade
of red. Natural makeup could be spotted at Burberry Prorsum, Marc
Jacobs, Fendi, Rag&Bone, and Nina Ricci.
Thick, well-defined eyebrows represent the great novelty that made
a strong come back for fall/winter 2010-2011. Prada, Narciso
Rodriguez and Alberta Ferretti are some of the designers that
accentuated the eyebrows. You can choose to contour them, but
remember to keep the rest of your makeup much more subtle. For
perfect eyebrows, make a contour on the upper line using a special
pencil. Using a thin brush, apply brown eyeshadow in order to cover
any unaesthetic mark. Brush your eyebrows so that every hair stays
in place. As for the rest of your makeup, keep it as natural as
possible. And try not to apply mascara and always use a foundation
that matches your skin complexion.
As for the eyeshadow colors for fall/winter 2010-2011 trends,
use autumnal shades in order to create simple, yet very spectacular
makeup effects. Don’t forget about the golden shades that will
never go out of style, as the luminosity they offer represents the
final-touch for any perfect makeup. You can also choose more vivid
colors for the eyeshadows you use, such as orange or coral, as seen
at Yves Saint Laurent or Christian Dior.
A slightly dark makeup that will offer you a mysterious and sexy
touch is a must-have when it comes to fall/winter 2010-2011 makeup
trends. This season, eye makeup means accentuating the eyes in an
interesting and unique way. The idea is to use the eyeliner more
and try to use less the eyeshadow. You can still get a smoky look
by using an eyeshadow. You need a black eyeshadow in the outer
corner of the eyes and above the crease of the lid. Continue by
applying an eyeshadow in an iridescent earthy tone on the entire
eyelid including on the black shadow going towards the base of the
eyebrows. Use a black eye pencil and apply it on the interior. For
your lips, choose a nude lipstick. Different approaches to the
smoky eyes look could be spotted at Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier,
Lacoste and Jill Stuart.

Even though for fall/winter 2010-2011 the accent is on the eyes,
lips remain a key-element for the makeup trends. Lip makeup is
different from one designer to another. For example, designers such
as Marc Jacobs have chosen a natural and simple makeup, while
others were more on the pro-red side that could be seen at Chanel,
Karl Lagerfeld, Dolce&Gabbana, Gianfranco Ferre, and Dsquared2.
A red-coral could be spotted at Issey Miyake and Marni.
Even though on the catwalks you can see red lips and smoky eyes,
remember that this type of combination is only meant for very
special occasions. You can give up, especially during the day, to
accentuated eyes, and go for a bolder color on the lips. Apply a
lip balm that will make your lips look fuller, and then use some
translucent powder on the lips that will fix the lipstick color
better. You can choose to apply a lip liner. Then, apply a lipstick
in the same color with the lip liner without going over the natural
contour of your lips. For the eyes, use mascara, while for the
cheeks, a pinkish blush.
