in reading your question, it is sort of what i was asking like 2-3 years back, you are starting to grow out from the scene/emo phase and it is starting to get confusing on what your next cut will be like I did haha
i think you should get something with the mixture of pretty but edgy, like a combination of the two pics. Here are some ideas that in my opinion sort of correlate the two style :)

There's alot of things to consider, like are you willing to maintain the emo style. If you are going for the same as the picture (which I really like by the way :P) you are most likely going to need some gel or whatever to make it sit and also you will need to get your bangs cut very often, as the bangs will become very annoying if the hair grows too long. The "normal" hairstyle is abit more versatile and doesn't require as much mainstaning. A another thing you can do is ask your stylist which style best fit your face shape.
