It's a win for plus size women as people voted a curvy woman as the new face for Ann Summer's new Valentine's Day lingerie campaign, through a model search competition launched in November. Check out the amazing photographs of the label's new face, the curvylicious Lucy Moore.
It's truly a glorious win for curvy women everywhere as voters
have selected a plus size girl over smaller size women as the new
face for Ann Summers Valentine's Day lingerie campaign.
The model search campaign by Ann Summers was launched in November
with hopes to find real women to represent the brand. Towards the
end of the competition, three amazing girls were selected as
finalists to compete for the big prize, working as the face for Ann
Summers Valentine's Day lingerie campaign.
Kassidy, Lucy and Melanie were the three finalists of the 'find a
face' model search and out of the three, plus size Lucy Moore
conquered the hearts of the voters. With gorgeous curves, plenty of
confidence, beautiful features and flawless looking skin, Ms. Moore
has demonstrated that curvy women can too be a perfect choice for
lingerie campaigns.
It was the people's choice to feature Ms. Moore as the new face
of Ann Summers and this should definitely be considered a win for
plus size women all over the world as the controversies brought by
thin vs plus size women have recently been brought to a whole new
level, especially after a spread and editorial targeting the
subject in PLUS Model Magazine, January 2012.
Ms. Lucy Moore, 20, managed to make it to the finals from about
4000 contestants of various sizes and was the only plus that made
it to the finals. Lucy, who is a size 16, is, according to Ann
Summers:
“A Criminal Justice student who entered the model search without
knowing where it would take her. She knows that sexy is not
worrying about yourself and what others think about you. She's
confident yet modest, she's strong and sexy, and she's our new face
as voted by YOU!”
Apparently, winning the competition was quite a surprise for
Miss Moore as she told MailOnline that although she'd dreamed about
this day she still can't believe it has happened. She said:
“At school I was the biggest girl in my group of friends, so I
avoided being teased by being fun and bubbly. Now all of my course
mates at university have seen me in my underwear. It's a bit weird.
This has been one of the most exciting things to happen to me and I
couldn’t believe I made it into a national modelling competition
and have now won; it is beyond anything I could have imagined.
Hopefully it will be an inspiration to other curvy girls and give
them confidence. I kept looking at the other girls and thinking how
beautiful they were. I thought any one of them could win it. I want
to represent women with a curvier figure and show them that you can
be sexy no matter what your size or shape.”
