Jimmy Choo has finally
released the ICONS capsule collection of 15 iconic shoes taken from the company’s
archives. Marlene, Greta, Lauren, Rita, Brigitte, Faye, Tippi, Ava,
Shirley, Raquel and Anita are the it-items inspired by the
company's most memorable creations.
The new line celebrates the brand's 15-year anniversary as well as the release of JIMMY CHOO XV, a captivating coffee table book that chronicles the company's most significant shoes through fascinating imagery shot by Mario Testino and Terry Richardson. Moreover, the book includes paparazzi shots, sketches and behind the scenes images. One hundred percent of the sales from this deluxe snakeskin book will be donated to the Jimmy Choo Foundation, a non-profit charitable trust that helps women lead healthier and safer lives.
"I feel extremely lucky to have been born into a world where I had access to good healthcare, and was free from the threat of persecution. I want to help women to feel safe and healthy, so they can feel strong and confident," Jimmy Choo founder and Chief Creative Officer Tamara Mellon said.
The Jimmy Choo ICONS capsule collection features modern interpretations of the brand's most exquisite classics. There is Carrie Bradshaw's "Lost Choo" in 'Sex and the City' rethought as MARLENE, as well as the red Gingham print re-imagined as BRIGITTE, TIPPI, the stiletto for ladylike dressing, SHIRLEY, the peep-toe bootie that revives the Jimmy Choo snake skin signature. Besides, you can also find ANITA, the modern version of Carly created to celebrate the opening of the brand's first store in New York City. Art photographer Nan Goldin made the ad campaign set to be released in November.
"I wanted to create a modern capsule collection inspired by memorable styles from our history that represented milestone moments for the brand and embody the DNA of our house style," Tamara Mellon said.
