We find out from the designer himself that for spring 2012 his purpose was to “Bring in something exotic like a bright orange ostrich skin which is really divine and beautiful. And that to me is an important statement for Spring. I am also using quite unexpected materials like a woven straw. One of them is black. One is white. Then I mix them both together on the same shoe so creating a strong black and white statement. Sort of minimalist and modern at the same time”(herewomentalk.com).
