Mulberry Releases Lana Del Rey Bag

Mulberry has already released a limited number of the Del Rey exclusively to three selected stores in London, New York and Singapore. Simple and practical yet utterly chic and refined, the new addition to the Mulberry family is inspired by singer Lana Del Rey.

Good news for every handbag addict out there! A new member has just arrived in the Mulberry family inspired by beautiful American singer Lana Del Rey. And even though the unique designs were set to be launched in mid-May, the renowned brand has already released a limited number exclusively to three selected stores in London, New York and Singapore. Practical and refined, the Del Rey has a timeless and classic charm and is inspired by the singer's old school Hollywood style.

The 25-year-old singer said that she feels so honored to be the inspiration behind a Mulberry bag. "I love the design, it's a perfect mix between old school Hollywood and contemporary style," Lana Del Rey confessed, adding that, "It's an honour that such a classic and prestigious brand would name a bag after me."

The British label's creative director, Emma Hill, admitted that the songstress's look was the one to give rise to the Del Rey bag. "I love Lana’s nostalgic references to bygone glamour and the fact that her look is retrospective yet so modern. This inspired us to create a bag that was timeless, refined and elegant, yet with a beautiful practicality that would suit any woman," Hill explained.

The Del Rey bag is achingly beautiful and alluring due to its simple and sleek yet extremely elegant and sophisticated design. Emma Hill also told British Vogue that, "We wanted to design a gorgeous bag that reflected Lana Del Rey's style and beauty so we thought the bag should be simple and structured yet relevant for now and recognisable instantly as a classic Mulberry piece."

"We wanted it to be functional with an uptown twist as Lana is such a wonderful uptown girl herself; its shape implies structure yet it has gorgeous squidgeablity! To me it also had to be very Mulberry, very us so we gave it the classic postman's lock hardware and a great front pocket - for all your bits and pieces! It's a mixture of Mulberry, a touch of Lana's old-school glamour, and total practicality: it's quickly become our best friend," Hill added.

If you want one of these uber-covetable beauties, you should know that the Del Rey bag is now available in classic black and deer brown. However, move quick as they are really vanishing and you'll have to wait until May when other colors such as berry and petrol will be released. Moreover, further four versions, such as gold metallic, black ostrich and shimmering crocodile print are set to hit the shelves in August.
