Even though spring comes knocking at our doors, with all its flowers and the girly touches, some fashion houses still manage to combine those specific spring accents with a stronger touch, like a different bag, masculine, sexy and strong. The Christian Dior spring 2010 bag collection is one of those bag lines which don’t follow the general trend, but they create their own.
If Galliano’s spring fashion show was all about floating fabrics,
incredibly light gowns and very feminine shapes, translucent and
sensual, the accessories matching the collection are at the
opposite direction. The Dior bags are clearly masculine, inspired
by a business man’s briefcase, a little oversized, but definitely
chic.
With Karly Kloss featuring the ad campaign, shot by photographer
Steven Meisel, the ad perfectly matches these bags: seductive,
sophisticated, in bold sizes, inspiring a brand new look. If, back
in 1947, Christian Dior rocked the world by simply introducing the
sculptural waist, today’s creations follow the same principle:
creating a new look.
That’s the story behind the bag collection for spring 2010, made from
the most exquisite leather and with subtle, yet intense
detailing.
