The Zac Zac Posen spring 2014 RTW collection was recently presented in the designer's studio. The new line seems to have an extremely optimistic vibe. The American designer opted for more relaxed silhouettes compared to the last season, but kept its preference for feminine ensembles with a distinct romantic vibe.
The main focus of the Zac Zac Posen spring 2014 line were dresses and skirts, but there were also a few masculine accents that added contrast to the new collection. There were two print choices: animal prints and floral motifs with an abstract vibe. For a ladylike allure, the designer opted for printed mid length skirts or chic maxi dresses with gorgeous ruffles . While a chiffon blouse paired with a mid length skirt is a combination no true fan of the designer is surprised by, the pajama-inspired trend is definitely something not many people would have expected to see from the designer.
Among the sexy alternatives spotted in the new line were chic moto inspired leather jackets and chic bralettes. The gorgeous printed bralettes included in the line weren't a part of a beach ready ensemble. Instead, they were paired with suits or high waist pants for more interesting contrast. If these unexpected choices are any indication, the newly developed diffusion line will bring a higher variety than it was anticipated.
Still, even with these interesting new alternatives, it was fairly clear that evening wear is one of the designer's strongest assets. Even though the dresses were simple, without embellishments or excessive textural contrasts, the vibrantly colored gowns could easily put the wearer in the spotlight at any time. It will definitely be interesting to see whether any of the new style perspectives spotted in the Zac Zac Posen spring 2014 collection will be found in the designer's main line, scheduled to be presented later on.
