Chic, somberly colored yet totally unique, the new Viktor & Rolf collection is totally worth your attention.
Chic and feminine, the Viktor & Rolf fall 2013
collection surprised everyone present at the show's debut at
Paris Fashion Week as it seems that the designer duo, Viktor
Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, chose to stray from their edgy,
statement signature patterns and take a new path to style through
the use of softer elements that still look unique!
Although the new lineup signed by the popular high-end fashion
brand was a bit more toned down compared to the brand's previous
collections that doesn't mean that the designs are common, on the
contrary, they still have that head-turning 'je ne sais quoi' that
is ever-present in the Viktor & Rolf
collections.
So, how do they manage to balance the elements to create wearable
yet head-turning garments? Well, apparently the designers chose to
draw inspiration from a multitude of sources as from punk-chic to
1900s-inspired tops and men's fashion the runway was dominated by
outfits featuring all of the elements specified above in various
degrees so that a high sense of variety is maintained throughout
the collection!
Numerous nipped-and-tucked details that felt and looked a bit
edgy as well as oversized bow accents underlined the
attitude-oriented style of the fashion house while everything else
seemed to be a bit more reserved as far as volume detail went,
probably to enhance the wearability level of the lineup.
Fabulous skirts aired with sweater, blouses and jackets/blazers as
well as pant-ensembles dominated the Viktor & Rolf fall 2013
collection presented at Paris Fashion Week. Be sure to rock
all of these fab must have pieces this upcoming season if you're
keen on staying trendy!
While the majority of the collection was featured in either black
or white, some designs displayed some interesting ripped trompe
l'oeil details or some subtle Romanesque hints revealed through the
use of laurels printed on the garments, elements displayed in
contrasting hue, so if you're looking to stand out yet still keep a
bit somber, this is definitely a collection to draw inspiration
from this year!
