After a fab women's collection, Timo Weiland replicated success in his men's collection. Check out the best looks.
Timo Weiland's men's fall 2013 collection follows the
amazing things the designer has prepared for fall 2013 women's
department. Aside from the obvious differences, we first notice
that the menswear alternatives are much more targeted in a capsule
collection. The label opted for the safe route, putting elegance
and classiness in the spotlight. The label opted to make a separate
set of looks for men and women in order to put them both in the
spotlight and ensuring they get the attention they deserve.
Another reason for the separation is noted by Timo Weiland himself
who told WWD: "We didn't want to make them match." The strategy
worked like a charm as all eyes were on the Timo Weiland men's
fall 2013 collection. Focusing the attention on a limited set
of options proved an amazing strategy as it brought wearable
alternatives which had a distinct British flair.
A focus on abstract, a bit of color blocking, some interesting
options brought through accessories are among the best attributes
of the label. The choice of prints could even attract the attention
of those who don't necessarily feel like such elements are suited
for them.
This New York Fashion Week fall 2013
edition seems clearly directed towards versatility and
functionality above attempts to bring innovative or edgy ensembles
and Timo Weiland sure senses the direction in which the industry is
headed. One cannot go wrong when following the classic style rules
and the new season will be all about finding the right balance
between the desire to impress and functionality.
