Rihanna to Design Capsule Collection for River Island

It seems that celebrities have plenty to give to their fans as most of them venture off to explore other domains than the one that catapulted them to international recognition. One of the latest celebrities to admit to being drawn to fructify her skills is Rihanna. The 'We Found Love' singer recently announced that she's teaming up with fashion label River Island to create her very own capsule collection. The entertainment world and the fashion world go hand-in-hand as image is very important for public personas, this is one of the reasons why celebs are not shy to spend thousands of dollars on unique looking clothes and accessories.

Rihanna has established herself as a true fashionista as her unique and ever changing style has managed to inspire women across the world. Her penchant for fashion has landed RiRi on numerous covers, so it was only a matter of time before the Barbadian fashionista decided to transpose her ideas into reality.

Apparently, Rihanna and River Island chose to join hands to create a collection that is contemporary and that can underline uniqueness. Rihanna has been seen on numerous occasions rocking a street-wear style created not only with high-end garments, but by mixing low priced, affordable items with designer pieces and every time she managed to hit the streets, she was praised for her daring, fierce yet feminine look, so as far as the designs that she'll come-up with, we bet they'll sell like hot-cakes.

The 23 year old diva seemingly grew fond of Britain over the past year and when she saw she had an opportunity to collaborate with the British brand, she was super excited as she told DailyMail, RiRi revealed that:

“I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.”

The collection has not yet been materialized as it is set to make its debut in the spring of 2013, but people are predicting that her 'street-chic' wearable style will definitely be recognizable in every piece.
Ben Lewis, River Island's chief executive confessed being thrilled about the collection and told DailyMail that the diva is calling all the shots. He said:

“We are thrilled to be collaborating with Rihanna and to be the first fashion brand to work with her in this way. Rihanna is a style icon, from street to chic she enjoys her fashion. As soon as we started to work together we knew this was a perfect fit. Rihanna will be designing the collection and we will be sharing our fashion experience with her to develop a range her fans will love.”
