Finally RiRi had the privilege of collaborating with the highly acclaimed style magazine. The news reveals that Rihanna covers Vogue's April 2011 issue and more, she also offers a few revealing and painful details related to her father. Learn more about the fascinating interview and the memorable editorial done by Vogue.
The ultra-successful music diva and 'S&M' singer, Rihanna is honored with the cover story for
Vogue's 10th Annual Shape Issue. Riri was also offered the chance
to feature on the cover of the magazine back in 2009, however, soon
after her nude photos appeared in the media, the collaboration was
canceled. Rihanna covers Vogue's April 2011 issue sporting a
Chanel pre-fall 2011 sheer dress, echoing a
mermaid-style allure and showing off her fabulous flirty
curves.
Besides the sight-pleasing editorial envisioned by photographer
Annie Leibovitz, we'll also have the chance to find out more on the
private life of Rihanna. Her confession about how she sees herself
and her silhouette together with the statements related to her
relationship with her father, make this interview taken by Ronald
Fenty even more intriguing. Find out more on your favorite music and fashion icon from the report
below.
The interview reveals more details about the relationship of
Rihanna with her estranged father. She confesses with tears in her
eyes to the magazine that, "Like, what do I even mean to him?" -
"It's really strange. That's the only word I can think of to
describe it, because you grow up with your father, you know him,
you are a part of him, for goodness' sakes! And then he does
something so bizarre that I can't begin to wrap my mind around
it."
Furthermore, she also states that, "You hear the horror stories
about people going behind people's backs and doing strange things,
but you always think, Not my family. My father would never do that
to me."
Rihanna here refers to the fact that after her notorious experience
with Chris Brown, her father gave interviews to all kinds of media
sources without consulting her daughter.
Riri continues in her interview that, "That was the first time,"
she revealed. "My dad went to the press and just told them a bunch
of lies. Because he hadn't talked to me after... that whole
thing.... He never called to find out how I was doing, if I was
alive, nothing. He just never called. He went straight to the press
and got a check. And now he does it again."
It seems that her series of conflicts with her father just don't
stop. The 23 years old star repeatedly tries to fix this
relationship. However, until now her attempts were simply
fruitless.
Additionally, we find out her opinion about her silhouette and
dainty curves. Rihanna claims that, "Over the holidays I realized
that, I actually like my body, even if it’s not perfect according
to the book. I just feel sexy. For the first time, I don’t want to
get rid of the curves. I just want to tone it up. My body is
comfortable, and it’s not unhealthy, so I’m going to rock with it."
Indeed the music icon is not afraid of showing what she's got,
especially when on stage. Sporting the super-skin tight costumes,
all mirror her attempt to change the beauty ideal. Vogue decided to
reward her ambitions to popularize feminine curves with this
dazzling editorial you can also spot in the near future.
