It's the season of change! Add some sizzle to your warm weather wardrobe and get ready to experiment with your styling! If you're looking for some seriously cool goodies, you should definitely have a nosey at Rihanna's new summer 2013 collection for River Island set to hit stores on May 25th. So, are you ready to add a super-duper flare to your dressing?
Yes, gorgeous dolls, Rihanna is back with her second line for River Island and you'll have the possibility to get your hands on it in a matter of weeks. Well, it seems that the new pieces are reinventions of the spring line plus loads of new designs that were inspired by the singer's crew.
“I made a piece for everybody in my crew, we all have different body types and different tastes,” Rihanna explains. “Some are braver than others, but, you know, I think like that because that's how all the women in the world are. We're all different, we all like different things, we all have different occasions, different moods, different body types.”
Gangsta florals? Yes please! In a behind-the-scenes video, Rihanna chats with her co-designer Adam Selman about what made her come up with the tie-dye and the floral prints. RiRi reveals that she didn't want the typical bright-colored floral but she looked instead for the 'gangsta' style that could be worn with rock 'n' roll stuff. The singer admits that she wanted to create pieces she would love to wear. So, you can find jumpers and T-shirts emblazoned with her portrait, skater skirts, dresses, jackets, jumpsuits in tie-dye and florals, and other hip and stylish pieces.
“I just wanted stuff that I wanted to wear because at the end of the day that's what got me into designing - seeing things on the rack that were great, but that could have been a little more me,” Rihanna says. “Maybe they could have been a little longer or shorter, or have a little more sex appeal or a little less. I wanted to make clothes for fat days; stuff that I want to wear. I was being selfish. Hopefully, my friends and people who shop at River Island; will have the same taste.”
