Oscar de la Renta's new collection is filled with pieces oozing a well-known sophistication, femininity and richness. Have a look at the designer's new line showcased at New York Fashion Week!
The new Oscar de la Renta fall 2013 collection oozes a
special flare of femininity and richness that characterizes the
designer's creations. There were silk organza dresses with
luxurious embroidery, voluminous gown skirts, skinny leather pants,
hooded capes and jackets, and an array of outstanding pieces
featuring jaw-dropping detailing and cuts. The looks were
beautifully complemented by cloche hats, gloves and wow-worthy
crystal encrusted necklaces.
Oscar de la Renta, who will mark his 50th year of designing clothes
in New York in 2013, has brought, once again, an outstanding
collection that exudes elegance and sophistication. It's not just
about those silhouettes but also about the chic color palette used.
There were blacks and whites as well as pops of red, bright pink,
purple, green, and some eye-catching prints. Well, what can we say?
Ethereal and unique as always!
There may have been a lot of talking about Oscar de la Renta
inviting John Galliano to be a designer-in-residence at his studio
for three weeks but the 80-year-old's latest collection had a
predominant de la Renta feeling. Still, there were also a few
elements in his fall 2013 line that reminded us of the house of
Dior. “He has been working with me,” said de la Renta. “I work with
people. I don’t work by myself. It’s so wonderful to have somebody
with an eye. He’ll show me something and we talk about it.”
So, even though Galliano was backstage at de la Renta’s show on
Tuesday, it is difficult to say to what extent he got involved into
the designer's fall 2013 collection. Well, at least the pieces
showcased in the opening had a particular Dior aesthetic such as
those wrap coats and jackets and the knee-length skirts. Okay, but
then no one can deny the fact that the rest of the line echoed the
already legendary de la Renta style. And a familiar, one-of-a-kind
elegance was really felt.Check out some of these chic
creations!
