Vintage glamor with a hint of comfort took over the cinematic styled set at the Marc Jacobs fashion show. Check out highlights of the designer's collection, next!
Marc Jacobs' fall 2013 collection might have been moved
at the last minute from Monday to Thursday at Paris Fashion Week,
but the result of the show was well worth the waist. The designer
chose comfort and familiarity as his muse for this collection (the
fact that he had a cold these past few weeks might have tipped the
scale towards this direction) and the result was far from being
common as the vintage mood designs were displayed using the most
glamorous fabrics and shaped to suit the contemporary woman that
loves to take classics as her guidelines to style.
The show itself was matched with the classic-mode style of the
collection - an entire set was put together featuring a huge bright
sun that shun to reveal the models in a dreamy, achromatic scenery
that looked torn straight from a 60s classic movie.
The Marc Jacobs fall 2013 collection unveiled at New York
Fashion Week opened with a straight line cut, pajama inspired skirt
and blazer ensemble displayed in a metallic finish satin fabric
that gave the outfit a more streetwear appropriate allure.
Masculine inspired coats, 60s mod separates and feminine knee
length dresses underlined the gentle, ladylike style of the
collection while high waist sexy shorts paired with stylish
button-up shirts gave the lineup that boldness and sexiness that
women nowadays crave for without however leaning towards vulgarity
at any point!
Luxurious fabrics boosted the glamor level of the collection as
Marc Jacobs turned towards silk, luxury furs and soft cashmere to
transpose his vision of the glamor woman today into reality. Soft
embroidery and heavy paillette applications made eveningwear a true
delight to watch, so if you're looking for day to evening designs
that look straight out of a vintage fashion catalog, designs
capable of creating an iconic allure, the items featured in the
Marc Jacobs fall 2013 collection should definitely make it
to your new season wardrobe or at least stand as inspiration for
your style!
