The brand heritage was beautifully highlighted in the Lacoste collection. See what the brand prepared for the New York Fashion Week 2013.
The Lacoste fall 2013 collection is characterized by
simplicity with a sporty, modern touch. At this New York Fashion
Week edition, it seems that inspiration struck from the most
unusual places. Case in point, the idea Lacoste creative director
Felipe Oliveira Baptista centered his collection around: “an
imaginary Antarctic expedition,” as he explained for WWD. A well
rounded sense of minimalism and a concern for reflecting modern
vibes were the main characteristics of the new collection.
The Lacoste fall 2013 collection definitely highlights some
of the fab elements which are recognized as part of the label's
heritage, like the cotton piqué since the collection marks the
label's 80th anniversary, however, these are revamped to suit the
contemporary the needs and desires of the label's most demanding
customers and loyal fans alike.
Unlike Timo Weiland, who opted for separate men and women
collections to avoid the matchy vibe, the label showed a desire to
reflect this season's hottest touches through the same lenses and
brought both vibes. The different silhouettes don't require
different style approaches for the most part or so the Lacoste fall
2013 collection teaches us. The sporty vibe of the looks is
definitely well reflected.
Perhaps some of the most interesting options spotted in the Lacoste
fall 2013 collection are gradient details along with interesting
abstract prints which match the mood of the year. Monochrome
outfits seem more and more present at this New York Fashion Week
2013 edition, which sure proves an interesting touch given the
massive focus on contrast we've seen in the previous seasons. Some
