Co-branded projects seem to be more popular then ever if we take
into account the multitude of fashion news that appeared lately on
this topic. After several celebrity featured projects it seems that
numerous rumors about famous designers involved in similar projects
have began to emerge. One of the most popular rumors which was
recently confirmed is that Karl Lagerfeld will design a lower
priced collection for Macy's.
Karl Lagerfeld has received a lot of attention lately especially
after the rumors that he might leave Chanel and that he might be
replaced by Haider Ackerman. However those who were saddened by the
rumors can now rejoice at the thought that we will still get to
enjoy the designer's fabulous creations at a more affordable price
range.
Although some think that the brand choice is a little unexpected,
the collection which is due to be released next September is
definitely an very awaited one especially if we consider the fact
that it range from jeans to fashionable gowns and it will also be
available online. As expected the capsule collection will be a
limited edition one.
As far as the official statements made on this topic are concerned,
Terry J. Lundgren, chairman, president and chief executive officer
of Macy's declared for WWD:
"Karl Lagerfeld holds a unique place in the world of fashion, an
icon who is the ultimate modernist.Through the decades, his style
and vision have marked the history of design. It is a tremendous
honour to bring his inimitable perspective to our fashion
customer."
However the well known retailer is preparing more than just one
pleasant surprise for the next year. It seems that other well known
fashion designers such as Calvin Klein,Vivienne Westwood, Kinder
Aggugini, Paul Smith, Versace and Costume National and that the
collections will rotate every two months starting from February.
With so many delightful projects it seems that 2011 will be a very
interesting one, at least from a fashion and style perspective.
