Jonathan Saunders will showcase his latest fall 2013 collection at London Fashion Week! Until then, check out some of the designer's previous creations!
Jonathan Saunders designs for “a woman or man who understands
and wants a balance between simplicity and decoration in what they
wear.” The Scottish fashion designer is famous for his work with
prints and use of traditional silk screening techniques. The
result? Every piece has its own specifically designed print and
creates a visually exciting collection.
Jonathan Saunders at London Fashion Week has been happening
from September 2003 until 2008, when he decided to take his
collection to New York Fashion Week. He returned to London in 2010
showcasing a line filled with soft, pretty pastels. Flirty hues
were also spotted in the designer's spring 2011 collection.
“Beauty, cleanness, optimism, and lightness,” Saunders said. “I
wanted this to be a real summer collection.”
For the spring 2012 line shows at London Fashion Week, Jonathan
Sanders has brought back sugary shades. Well, the ones from South
Beach. "The colors of pills," Saunders laughed. Oh, and super-cool
prints, of course! Season after season, Saunders reinvents
femininity giving it a personal flare. Jonathan Saunders' fall 2012
collection included shirtdresses, flared skirts, sweaters, but also
jackets and skirts characterized by a particular elegance.
On his modern and incredibly alluring spring 2013
collection, Saunders said that his main source of inspiration
was "a Michael Clark disco girl". "The hardest collection I've ever
done," Jonathan Saunders revealed after a show.
“I wanted to push myself to find ways of still doing pattern, but
without printing - so by using texture, sequin, and woven effects
instead.” For his ore-fall 2013 collection, the designer still kept
his feminine approach yet adding some masculine touches. There are
A-line skirts paired with loose knits, jackets, pants, but also
glam gowns.
Jonathan Saunders will be showing his fall 2013 collection at
London Fashion Week on
February 17. Remember to check back for the designer's latest
collection!
