The newest collection from Erdem presented at this London Fashion Week collection proved an inviting trip to the dark side. See the show's best highlights.
After many bold hued collections the Erdem fall 2013
collection showed us a fab side of Erdem Moralioglu focused
around sexiness with a bit of an edge. The trip to the dark side
was evident all throughout the collection as the regular prints be
a more discreet presence. The change was a bit difficult even for
the designer who felt like he left his comfort zone:“I’ve always
been quite afraid of the color black in my work, but I liked the
idea of doing ‘uncomfortable,’ reacting against myself—and seeing
how many shades of black I could get in my show!,” the designer
told Vogue.com
He might have abandoned his vibrant floral prints, however he
stayed true to his inclination towards ladylike ensembles which
dazzle through elegance and sophistication. The Erdem fall 2013
collection brought a myriad of amazing dresses with various
accents. If from a proportion standpoint things are kept on the
classy side, the different fabrics subtle color additions, by the
labels standards. Mixing chiffon, lace and organza, the label has
managed to bring a multitude of amazing looks to the show.
It seems like sophistication with a refined touch will be a
leading trend for fall 2013, at least for London Fashion Week 2013.
The multitude of fab looks had a definite seductive vibe even if at
first the classy touch is the one that prevails. The romantic
allure is still present and it sure seems like the designer managed
to successfully transition from the usual offerings. It sure feels
fairly different, however, it's definitely inviting. Though
definitely made to show off a woman's silhouette, the new offerings
aren't as body con as some of the Erdem offerings from the
past.
Still, with plenty of sheer touches that are placed strategically
so confidence is definitely required for successfully pulling off
these designs. With all the drama highlighted in the newest
Erdem fall 2013 collection it became fairly clear that the
new options don't need a lot of accessories in order to finish off
the looks. A fun pair of sunglasses or a fab pair of pointy toe
pumps were the main accessories spotted. Beauty-wise classiness
dominates the scene and natural looks are definitely seen as the
best way to impress.
